Methodss:Patients with w significcant posteriior capsularr opacification were enrolled.. Pree – YA AGIOP were taken and the amoun nt of energy used for capsuloto omy (in julees) was notted alongwitth the number of shotss and the time of laaser application. IOPs were w recordeed at 1,4 and d 24 hours postp YAG application. Those sh howing risee of IOP mo ore than 5 mm m HG werre started medical m treattment for the saake of safety y and were managed m further accordiingly Results: 42% of stud dy population n showed a rise of IOP less l than 4 mm m Hg,7% sh howed a risee of 4 to 6 mm Hg, 15 % sh howed a rise of IOP > 6 to t 10 mm Hg g and 10% sh howed a risee of more thaan 10 mm Hg, while 20% showed s eitheer a fall or no change in IOP Conclusiion: It is com mmon to seee a significan nt rise of IOP P post YAG-- laser capsu ultomy, especcially during th he first 24 ho ours. Out of 50% of the total patien nts showing a rise of morre than 4 mm m Hg 36% showed by 1 hour, h 40% by b 4 hours and 24% sh howed the rise by 24 hours post laser application ****************************** 19
