Nairobi National Park: It is Kenya's first national park and a haven for wildlife lovers. The exciting park is located on the Langata
Road and is only 7 km from the city centre. One of the major highlights of the park is its rhino sanctuary. Rhinos are endangered
creatures and the park looks after almost 50 of them. Take a tour and get a close encounter with lions, zebras, giraffes and
loads of other wild animals along with more than hundred species of birds. Don’t miss the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust at the
park’s main gate which is home to many orphaned baby elephants and rhinos.
Ngong Hills: The gorgeous tourist spot is famous for many walking trails across the hills. It offers beautiful views of the valleys in
addition to visible wildlife such as, giraffes, buffalo, gazelles, bushbuck, and troupes of baboons. In colonial times the place is
home to many white settlers including the famous Danish author, Karen Blixen.
National Archives: It is a place which is well known for Kenyan tribal culture art, history, and politics. Located at the Moi
Avenue, Nairobi, the National Archives is placed in the old Bank of India. The collections of the centre include historical
documents, photographs, and many incredible possessions of Joseph Murumbi, one of Africa’s most famous collectors. Visit the
second floor and explore the range of postage stamps; the floor also has a reading room for professional projects.
Uhuru Gardens: This is a national monument of historical importance for more than one reason. This is the site where the first
Kenyan flag was first raised. The park also has the Mugumo Tree, which was planted after removing the British Flag. The garden
boasts a range of diverse of flora and fauna of savannah woodland and region. It is an excellent place to get peace and
relaxation.
