Launched in Fall 2012, with campuses located
in Ohio (Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo)
and Michigan (Grand Rapids and Lansing) serve
250-300 students in grades 9 through 12,
ensuring maximum personal attention.

Nexus Academy students attend a uniquely designed physical campus where teachers
interact with students both online and on-site, while campus-based “Success Coaches”
help guide students through Connections Education’s comprehensive high school
curriculum. Students are

Connections Learning Offers Blended Learning
Solutions for Your District
The Nexus Academy model has many features that Connections Learning can apply to your
district’s blended learning implementation, including:
 Personalized learning plan: Each student receives individualized instruction, including
lessons tailored to that student’s academic strengths and weaknesses.
 Flexible schedule: Nexus Academy students attend the campus 4 days per week,
4 hours per day—students attend either morning or afternoon classroom sessions and
perform the remainder of their work online (usually 2 additional hours per day).
 Small and personal by design: Total enrollment is limited to 300 students,
with 150 students attending morning or afternoon sessions means class sizes
of 5 to 15 students.
 Dynamic Scheduling based on Student Performance: Provides teachers with instant
insight into student performance so they can respond quickly and effectively to each
student’s needs.
 Differentiated Course Delivery and Staffing Model: Students enjoy Math and English
courses in a classroom setting, and science, art, physical education, social studies and
electives online with face-to-face support.
 Unique school design: The typical floor plan is 15,000 square feet and is flexible,
efficient and 100% focused on learning.
 Success Coach: Licensed paraprofessionals work with students every day throughout
the school year in order to ensure that they remain focused and on-track with their
personalized learning plan.
 Faculty: Our licensed teachers are specially trained in Connections Education
award-winning curriculum and industry leading education management system,
Connexus®, in order to deliver an engaging, rigorous learning environment
for students.
 Curriculum: Our award-winning curriculum offers more than 500 courses including
a wide array of AP, Honors and electives that meets the needs of all students.
