HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE
IN MINISTRY
IN APPALACHIA
The Purpose of CAM Cabin Crafts is
‹ To encourage Appalachian crafters to provide
Appalachian made, hand crafted items that
share our culture with the purchasers;
‹ To provide an outlet for the sale of Appalachian
craft items and income for the crafters, many of
whom are low to moderate income persons;
‹ To promote the organizations and crafters who
provide the products;
‹ To supply a setting in which the values of
(WWHSHJOPHUJ\S[\YLHYLHMÄYTLKHUKYLZV\YJLZ
for that culture are available.
Currently we work with 125 crafters and craft
groups located in 7 of the 13 Appalachian states.
The Coalition for Appalachian Ministry
began in 1965 as an agency of the Synods
and Presbyteries of its member denominations. Today congregations and
individuals are taking greater responsibility for mission in Appalachia, and are
getting involved in a couple of ways.
