Personal Narrative

What have you done to make someone proud of you? Did you help
someone in a special way? Did you work very hard to do something
well? Write a paper for your teacher telling about a time you made
someone proud of you.
One day my dad said, “Let’s go camping.”
My mom said, “What a great idea!” So we hopped in the car and
drove to Lake Pleasant. The drive took two hours. The whole way
I was thinking about the giant fish I was going to catch.
When we got there, we put the boat into the water and went
fishing. We had no luck fishing, so we gave up for the day and said
we would go tomorrow when it wasn’t so hot.
It was getting late, so we had to get the tent ready for that
night and then take a shower. The showers weren’t clean at all. I
knew that I had to wear my flip-flops, or I would have to stand in
dirty water because the drain was stopped up. The last time we
went camping the water in the shower was dirty too.

The next day we went fishing again. It was only a few minutes
when I caught my very first fish. I was proud of myself and my
family was, too, except for my little brother. He was angry
because he didn’t catch the first fish. He started crying.
I felt kind of sorry for my brother, but in a minute he had
caught a fish too. So then we both had big grins on our faces. We
wanted to fish all night. We actually fished until it got dark. We
caught a ton of fish.
