When you multiply, you put equal groups together.

So, multiplication is like adding equal groups.
You can multiply to find the total when there are the same
number of things in each group.

You can add to find the total.
5 5 5 = 15
You can skip count to find the total: 5, 10, 15 in all
You can multiply to find the total because there are the same number of
oranges in each group.
3 groups of 5 oranges = 15 oranges in all
