What is Thanksgiving anyways?

History of Thanksgiving
Is it where a family gets together and stuffs their faces till their
food reaches their throat? Yes, but there is more to it. Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrating the day that pilgrims gave thanks
for the land they were blessed and the crops they had. We believe that God sent Squanto to show his gifts and teach them
how to plant crops and hunt food.
Abraham Lincoln realized how great
God was to the pilgrims so in 1868 it
became an official holiday. This is
why on November 28 we will be sitting at a long table with our heads
bowed thanking God for this country.

Softball Team
The Varsity Softball Team played a total of 36
games this year. They had a record of 26 and 11. These
girls made it to the state playoffs for the 2nd year in a
row, but they lost by one point. We had one senior on
the team this year. We should congratulate our varsity
Softball Team for representing Prince Avenue Christian
School with an amazing season.

Verse of the
month
Proverbs 16:1-4
To humans belong
the plans of the
heart, but from the
Lord comes the
proper answer of
the tongue.
2 All a person’s
ways seem pure to
them, but motives
are weighed by the
Lord.
3 Commit to the
Lord whatever you
do, and he will
establish your
plans.
4 The Lord works
out everything to
its proper end —
even the wicked for
a day of disaster.
This verse
means that you
need to trust
God because
He sees the
whole picture,
and we don’t .
