Term 1 Week 11
‘Nurturing Leadership and Love for Learning’
Principal’s View
School Holidays
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Term 1 concludes on Friday 15 April at 3pm and
resumes on Monday 2 May at 9am
We have reached the end of a long and very productive
first term. It is amazing to think we have watched our new
school buildings take shape from what was a hole in the
ground when we began this term. In the last few weeks I
have been liaising with the contractors regularly to follow
up minor details and ensure all those little things are
thought of. This way when we move into our new school
(which should be sometime in term 3) everything will be
operating smoothly and we won’t have any unpleasant
surprises. I am very excited about our new school project
and am really looking forward to its completion and
beginning a new chapter in our school’s long history.
Please wear your winter uniform for terms 2 and 3
Uniform Variation
We have had a very exciting term 1 with our new year 8
leaders learning and developing into their new leadership
roles within the school. I have been monitoring them each
week as they run their various clubs (sports, art, movie,
dance and drama clubs) and our health group. These clubs
are all planned and run by our year 8 students in their
lunch breaks. I am so impressed with the leadership skills
they have shown and as the term has progressed they have
sharpened their organisational skills so that now things are
running very smoothly.
Last night at our Board of Trustees meeting the Board
reviewed the uniform survey results from the questionnaire
many of you completed several weeks ago. The results
were overwhelming (85%) in favour of retaining our
current uniform. Several respondents commented about the
difficulty many have sourcing the royal blue skivvy and
that many students find them hot and uncomfortable in
winter. Whereas the boys currently have the option of a
grey winter shirt or a skivvy the girls haven’t had an
alternative. The Board has therefore decided to amend our
uniform requirements so that girls may choose to wear a
white long sleeved cotton blouse underneath their pinafore
instead of a skivvy. The Board have also decided to phase
out the skivvy and for new students starting at our school
the winter uniform for boys will be a grey winter shirt and
for girls a white long sleeved cotton blouse under the
pinafore.
I hope you all have a safe and restful term break and I look
forward to seeing you all in term 2.
Please see below for the Winter Uniform list which
includes this variation.
God Bless

Kittens Come Visiting
Room 3 had a visit from some very cute kittens earlier this
week. Several of our students said they haven’t had the
opportunity to see kittens in action before and were
enthralled with how playful they were. Thank you to
Olivia’s mum Megan for bringing them in.
Room 3 have been doing circuits where they have been
working on various exercises as part of their fitness
training.
