Year 10 – Romeo and Juliet, Old Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead – 10 May 2017
On Wednesday 10 May 2017 in the afternoon, we will be taking our Year 10 Drama
students on a visit to see Merely Theatre’s production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and
Juliet at the Old Town Hall, Hemel Hempstead.
The GCSE Drama course advises that students see as much live theatre as possible
and this is an excellent opportunity for the students to see a creative, innovative take on
a classic play.
We will be travelling by coach and leaving school at 1.15 pm. Students need to meet in
the DST at 1.00 pm. We will be returning to school by approximately 4.30 pm. Students
will contact parents with a more exact time of arrival.
As students will be missing lunch time they should bring a packed lunch with them on
the day. They will be required to wear school uniform during the visit and also be
expected to catch up on the work they miss from Period 5.
The cost of the trip will be £13.00 per student which includes transport to and from the
venue, theatre ticket, insurance, staff and administration costs. Whilst all contributions
are voluntary, if we do not receive the full payment from every student to cover the cost
of the trip, we reserve the right to cancel. Any surplus will be refunded according to our
Charging and Remissions Policy.
Basic Insurance cover will be arranged through the Department of Education Risk
Protection Arrangement. If required a policy summary can be obtained from the Finance
office. Alternatively if any additional or specialist insurance is required we suggest you
contact your own insurance broker.
Students may wish to bring a
