M, I

First of all I'd like to congratulate the government for taking this much needed
initiative .
As an Australian of Pakistani origin and one who loves both countries
passionately, I would like to see a lot more co operation between the two . Not
only because i'll feel good but because I seriously believe it'll be for the good
of both countries as well as the greater regional dynamics .
Pakistan 🇵🇰 has always been of utmost interest in global foreign policies
thanks to its v unique strategic geographical location , its richness in various
natural resources , its nuclear status , its on again off again relationship with
Usa 🇺🇸, its infiltration by afghans and talibans and unfortunately the resulting
terror as well . But one must not forget that it's more a victim and less a
harbinger in this tale of terrorism . And mostly a v important ally of the west .
That it's a v important ally to have both strategically and commercially is not in
doubt but is it worth the effort and would it be a viable / beneficial partnership
are the questions to ponder . The answers to those questions might have
been very different 10 or even 5 years ago but now it's a resounding YES!!
Underneath all the hoopla and mushroom cloud of negative propaganda ,
reality on ground has been changing drastically . It's a nation in transition ,
rapidly becoming progressive and world class in various fields of life .
Add to that the important fact that Saudi Arabia is losing its grip on Pakistani
culture and economy thanks to the rapidly expanding trade and investment
and game changing development projects with china 🇨🇳. Australia is already
closely involved with china . It's simply common sense to broaden this
regional multinational coalition for mutual benefits .
Historically, Australia has always followed America's foreign policies in the
subcontinental region in general and Pakistan in particular. While it was a
good move to show loyalty to our v important ally , it might not have always
brought home the dividends for Australia. With the recent change in Usa
leadership and their expressed wish of looking after their own national
interests first and foremost regardless of the opinions of their allies , right now
might be the right time for Australia to rethink its foreign policy as well . Put
Australia first . Australia is a giant in its own region and has the capacity to
use that position to its advantage by wielding more influence in its own region
. Make our own strategically beneficial coalition of willing countries.i do
believe we are capable if ready . It would not only be beneficial for the region
and Australia but also bring more respect and weightage to Australia's status
in the eyes of international community and allies .
Here are some facts worth considering about Pakistan ....
Pakistan has been ranked 52nd, ahead from India (60th), among 79
developing economies in the Inclusive Development Index (IDI), according to a
World Economic Forum (WEF) report.
Gawadar port and the importance of CPEC cannot be emphasized enough .
Here is the list of some of the amazing inventions made by Pakistanis,
followed/ practiced/ used by people around the globe.
 Fertilizers With Non-Explosive Materials. ...

Successful Brain-Silicon Chip Connection. ...

Sagar Veena. ...

Human Development Index. ...

Lavatory That Transforms Human Waste into Charcoal, Minerals, And Clean
Water.

Brain ( the first computer virus)


Pleuroperitoneal Shunt, Endotracheal Tube
And many more
Advances in IT are pretty impressive too .
The year 2016 has been a good year for the startup scene in Pakistan. There is
definitely no doubt to the fact that there has been a significant rise in the trend of
entrepreneurship where we saw many new faces, jumping on to the bandwagon.
These included students who started their own micro-companies from scratch and
the grown professionals too who, tempted to the huge growth potential in the said
field, started their IT ventures. We also saw many supporters making up their place
by starting different incubation centers, providing mentorships and and investors
who decided to support the startups monetarily.
Pakistan is rich in agriculture like Australia and actively adopting newer
technologies like solar power etc
It has vast untapped reserves of oil, gas and minerals and ores
The natural beauty of Pakistan and its diversity are second to none . Now with
political stability the tourism industry is flourishing bringing in local as well as
foreign tourists to its mountains and plains . For the ever sporty and adventurous
Aussies , the possibilities and opportunities are endless .
Pakistanis are amongst the top if not the top most hospitable people in the wold .
Ask anyone from Aussie cricket team of yore
Cricket !!!! Need I say more ? The two nations have a history and hopefully an
even better future .
Pakistan women cricket is doing great as well as women football and rugby teams
.
Some world records
World Biggest Earth filled Dam-Tarbela Dam is constructed on the Indus River,
World’s Largest Irrigation network:
World’s Highest Paved International Road: the Karakoram Highway
World’s Highest Density Processor: ( VOIP)
World’s Biggest Deep Sea Port: Gwadar
Pakistan Supplies 50% of World’s footballs
For a nation just 70 years old , to have achieved all this , it must be
extraordinarily gifted and hard working and willing to co operate with the
international community . Pakistan has the manpower , intelligence,
willingness, geographical advantage , technology and progress to make it a
good ally for Australia 🇺.
Please encourage more skilled workers and student immigrants from Pakistan
. They are intelligent , hard working and usually fluent in English.
Another important point is getting intelligence on ground . The more you
engage , the more the likelihood of knowing facts on ground rather than
projected hypothesis or propaganda.
For this purpose NGOs should be introduced to further education and
awareness of the masses as well as staying informed of facts .
There is much fear of the unknown around Muslims and Islam . The solution
is more and more interaction and open dialogue and debate . We must stop
dehumanizing each other and embrace our diversity as well as common
human traits . There is much more that unites us than the little that divides .
Its upto us to make the effort and find that common beneficial ground where
we all can flourish .
Extremely sorry for the v lengthy submission but am writing this extempore as
a friend just sent me the link . I could still go on for a while though . As there
is so much more to explore about Pakistan and Australia friendship/ alliance .
Thank you for your patience and time .
Kind regards ,
M
