Nasuni’s broad range of on-premises appliances allows organizations to optimize
Nasuni Enterprise File Services in every location throughout the enterprise.
Nasuni Edge Appliance, a key component of Nasuni Enterprise File Services, is
a local storage controller that supports file storage. Connecting each office location
to the master copy of the files stored in the cloud, Nasuni Edge Appliance serves
as the file access point for end-users. Nasuni Edge Appliance performs these
critical functions:
The Nasuni Edge Appliance
family is a key component
of Enterprise File Services.
• On-premises cache for fast local acces – Using an advanced algorithm to
optimize cache usage, Nasuni Edge Appliance delivers local access to users in
each location by storing the most commonly accessed files. In order to support
enterprise organizations of all sizes, Nasuni Edge Appliance is available in
several different platform and configuration options.
• Integrating into the corporate environment – Support for CIFS, NFS,
FTP/ SFTP, and HTTPS allows for seamless integration into the IT environment
and support for NAS workloads. Support for Active Directory allows IT to easily
manage users and access control privileges.

• Managing versions – Continuous versioning, combined with compression and
deduplication to minimize bandwidth usage, delivers integrated data protection
with unlimited versions.
• Auditing and alerting – Extensive user-defined auditing, SNMP and e-mail
alerts provide visibility into the storage environment.

The versatile portfolio of Edge Appliance platforms allows organizations to optimize
deployments based on the performance and application requirements of each
office location.
Hardware – Appliances available in a range of cache sizes, with optional solid-state
drives, deliver the required performance and application support.
Virtual – The ability to run on-premises and cloud-based virtual Edge Appliances
provides maximum flexibility and cost effectiveness.
With Nasuni's hybrid approach, the master copy of files are centrally stored in
the cloud, Edge Appliances can be replaced and upgraded without migrating
or disrupting access to files.
