It is not that we understand mathematics, rather mathematics just
becomes familiar with practice.

Grading Policy (1) - Assignments
Assignments every week (2 from the textbook, 4 online). You can
solve them individually or work together. This will make up 20% of
your final score (2% for the textbook problems, 18% for the online
problems).
Handling homework papers in late is possible (late within a reasonable
tolerance). Scores will be reduced as follows:
First two times: no effect on the score;
3rd time: only 50% of the score;
4th time: only 25% of the score;
From 5th time on: no score.

Grading Policy (2) - Assignments
2 additional exercises which have to be solved individually, in class,
every Thursday from 10:10 - 10:40 (“inclass homework”). Textbook
is allowed but not the homework paper (“open book test”).
Attendance is compulsory (otherwise the inclass homework +
homework paper does not receive any score). Each inclass homework
consists of an easy and a more complicated problem. The lowest
three scores of the more complicated problems will not count. This
will make up 20% of your final score.
The results of the weekly assignments will be discussed every Monday
roughly from 17:00 - 17:20 (and afterwards published online on the
course webpage). This time can also be used for asking questions
concerning the next homework, midterm/final, material, etc.

Grading Policy (3)
If you are unable to attend the regular class (minus inclass homework
and tutorial) send me an email (no reason has to be provided).
Attendance will be occasionally checked. The final score of students
who do not attend unexcused will be lowered by 5 points each time
from the third time on.
The midterm exam will take place on April 13th and the final exam
will take place on June 1st. Both will count 15% towards your final
score.
The remaining 30% are coming from our department’s final exam
which has to be taken by all calculus students.
