Finish HEAT vocabulary foldable -- definitions
Thermal energy envelopes – take out pieces (first 60 seconds – no talking – each student looks
at the pieces and decides which form of energy transfer they think is represented and why.
Second 60 seconds – share reasoning in groups. Give each group its scrambled puzzle to check
their results.)
Discuss ideas for testing or demonstrating the assigned form of thermal transfer
Thermal energy worksheet
Tuesday and Wednesday: Computer Lab A: Research energy resources – fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural
gas), nuclear, hydro, solar, wind, geothermal, and biomass. For each, list advantages and disadvantages.
Goal: The Great Energy Debate: You must research all of the energy sources, and be ready to present the case
for your assigned energy source, listing the advantages and disadvantages of your assigned source, explaining why
it would be a good choice.
Thursday: District CBA – demonstrate understanding of content from the first two six weeks
