ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
INGLÉS COMO SEGUNDO IDIOMA
English as a Second Language
The English as a Second Language (ESL) non-credit program helps non-English or limited English speaking adults improve
speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. El programa de Inglés como Segundo Idioma (ESL) ayuda a los adultos que no
hablan inglés o inglés limitado a mejorar la expresión oral, lectura, y escritura.
This free program provides life skills instruction, covering topics such as how to get and keep a job, get medical help, and
understand basic government rules. The intermediate level classes provide instruction necessary for educational and workplace
success. Academic ESL classes held on the Santa Ana College campus, focus more intensely on transition into the college.
Other classes in the ESL program include pronunciation, conversation, ESL citizenship, and writing. All students can also enroll in
the Community Learning Center (CLC) where they improve their language skills through the use of computers. ESL/Family Literacy
classes held in the community, help parents learn English and how to improve the reading skills of their children.
