ComfortPlus Spring Promotion 2014 - Dealer
Program Goal
The program goal is to improve high-end product system sales by the dealer having an opportunity to
customize their offer to best suit the customer’s needs with one of the following:
-Offering an instant cash rebate to the consumer at the time of sale; or
-Providing a strong financing option with a low monthly payment
The process is also designed to:
• Provide a powerful closing tool
• Make the transaction as paperless as possible!
• Drive high mix
• Promote American Standard’s Industry-leading Nexia technology
1. PARTICIPATION IN THE COMFORTPLUS CONSUMER PROGRAM
To be eligible for the ComfortPlus program, the American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning participating
dealer must accept the terms and conditions for the program for 2014. This is done electronically
through the PCC when submitting their first claim under this promotion.
Dealer contribution shall be 50% of the Homeowner Credit (for either the rebate or financing offer).
2. GENERAL PROGRAM GUIDELINES
Features of the Program
The ComfortPlus program provides the dealer salesperson with two strong options that will close sales at
the kitchen table. The dealer will receive a set dollar amount based on the system that is sold. These funds
can be used to subsidize the dealer’s offer of an instant rebate or special financing terms. The dealer and
the consumer must decide which option is best for their particular situation. Whichever option the consumer
chooses, the salesperson will be armed with the best consumer offer in addition to the best HVAC products
available.
Program Periods
Standard Promotion Periods
•
Purchase period: March 15 – May 31, 2014

Claim must be submitted no later than 30 days after sales date.
Customer Care Extended Promotion Period:
•
Purchase period: June 1 – June 30, 2014

Installation by and Claim must be submitted no later than 30 days after sales date
** New Claim Guidelines—Claims must be entered no later 30 days after sales date.

See attached equipment list (Exhibit “A”) for a listing of eligible systems and corresponding dollar amounts.
Advertising
•
Dealers may advertise “up to $1,100 rebate” if they are promoting the Platinum ZM or Platinum ZV
system with the Acculink Control..
•
Dealers must advertise the total homeowner credit.
3. HOW IT WORKS WITH THE DEALER
The dealer will select the proper product/system they will offer to the customer, and at the time of sale, will
show the consumer the ComfortPlus merchandisers provided by American Standard. The dealer will decide
which offer it will provide to the consumer, and together they will choose the option that best meets the
consumer’s needs.
Example:
The dealer proposes a Platinum ZM 20 split AC with a Platinum ZM furnace, and a Platinum ZV control
to the Jones family:
•
Total installed price on this job is $12,000.
•
The dealer will receive a credit of $550 ($500 for the Platinum ZM System, $50 for Platinum ZV Control)
towards one of the following:
1.
$1,100 Instant Rebate; or
2.
Special financing terms through Wells Fargo.
•
If the dealer chooses Instant Rebate, the dealer invoice to the customer must show the total price and
the entire homeowner portion of the instant rebate.
•
If the dealer chooses Financing, the Promotional Financing Term must be listed on the invoice (i.e.
5.9% APR, 36 Months 0% APR).
•
The dealer will claim the sale on the PCC, the PCC will validate the system qualifies for the promotion
•
The dealer will also receive a $35 SPIFF
4. GENERAL OVERVIEW OF CLAIM PROCESS
Online claims
To receive the matching funds for ComfortPlus promotion, the dealer will be required to enter the sale
data on the ComfortPlus website, which is accessed via ASDealernet/Marketing Center/Promotional
Claim Center. The information required for this claim will be a valid consumer name, mailing address (with
zip), one telephone number and the equipment installation address (if different from the mailing address).
Note: Equipment serial number validation will be used for the claim, so it is imperative that participating
dealers collect all serial number information from all equipment (not packaging/shipping information), and
return these serialized codes back to the office with the signed paperwork/invoice!
Important: Dealers may submit claim of Qualifying Equipment only after the system has been installed in
the homeowner’s residence. Dealers and distributors may have credits reversed if it is determined a
claimed Qualifying Equipment was returned and installed in a different residence.
A report will run at the end of each week of the active program period and credits will be processed
accordingly.

Online Reporting Summary
For the ComfortPlus promotion, “real time” daily/monthly summary reports will be made available on the
ASDealerNet claim system. The dealer can also use this software to run reports of claims in the system on a
daily/weekly/monthly basis.
Claims Auditing
-If a dealer claim is selected for an audit, American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning will notify the
Distributor via email. Required information (i.e. claim forms, invoices, proof of performance, etc. – see these
guidelines in their entirely for a complete list of documentation requirements) must be provided to American
Standard Heating & Air Conditioning within 10 days of notification.
-If reimbursement is received on any claim that is later determined to be ineligible by American
Standard, ACES will debit the Dealer’s account in the amount of the ineligible claim.
Important Financial Guidelines - Claims
All claims must be for eligible products outlined on this program, products submitted for incentives of any
kind under this Sales Plan cannot be submitted against any other incentive program.
