withaclientbasedinSeville.Thegoalofthisprogramistohelpstudentsacquirethehands-onexperienceemployers
andgradschoolsseekI'mworkinginteamsofthreeorfourstudentsperconsul:ngproject.Theseconsul:ngprojects
areforrealSpanishcompaniesthatmayincludeanythingfrombusinessplanningmarke:ngplanning,fromproduct
analysistobudgetanalysis,oranythinginbetween.Spanishisnotarequirementforthisprogram.However,students
withSpanish-languagecompetencywillhavemul:pleopportuni:estoprac:cethelanguage.
Cultural tours and ac:vi:es are interwoven in to the trip. This is a unique opportunity to interact with
businessprofessionalsandstrengthenteamworkandleadershipskillswhileimmersingoneselfinthelocal
culture.

Sectors
GlobalEd has a strong rela:onship with the business community to include such sectors as: Tourism, Interna:onal
Rela:ons, Manufacturing/Industrial, Service Providers, Startups, IT/E-commerce, Engineering, Architecture, Health
Care, etc… These rela:onships have led to many collabora:ons with our study abroad programs to include guest
speakers, site visits and internships all geared to expose our program par:cipants to the"real world” helping them
develophands-onexperience,marketableskillsandaconfirma:onoftheircareerinterests.
Projects
Thetypesofconsul:ngprojectscanrangeanywherefrompreparingabusinessplan,performingamarke:ngplan,
productanalysis,financial/budgetanalysis.
ThePlacementProcess
Detailed descrip:ons of consul:ng projects will be proposed to the faculty program leader for approval prior to
promo:ngtostudents.
Teamwork
In order to work well in teams and become an effec:ve leader, one must know his/her own strengths and pi`alls,
understand the complexity of team dynamics, as well as develop the cultural framework for understanding and
apprecia:ngculturalvalues.TheMyers-Briggstoolwillbeusedtofacilitateself-awarenessandhowtoworkbeaerin
teams.StudentswillperformatestonlinepriortoarrivalandwillreceivetheresultsoftheirMyers-Briggspersonality
profile during their onsite session aber learning about the elements of personality, based on Carl Jung, and
performingaself-assessment.
TEACHING FACILITIES
GlobalEdusesvariousfacili:eswithinthecityofSevilletomeetthelearningobjec:vesandbudget
of each faculty-led program. Standard ameni:es typically include Wi-Fi access, classroom space,
whiteboard, and overhead projector. Team-based projects that require students to work in teams
underthesupervisionofafaculty/programadviserwilltypicallyhaveaccesstoopenworkspaces,
wi-fi,mee:ngroomsandpresenta:onrooms.
Theavailabilityoffacili:eswillvarydependingonavarietyoffactors,suchas:facultypreferences,
program enrollment, dates, teaching :mes, co-working schedules, required equipment, program
dura:on, program ameni:es and budget. Examples of facili:es include: the University of Seville
campus, EUSA campus, professional co-working environments, language learning centers, hotel
conference centers, GlobalEd offices, etc... All of these op:ons can be explored to adapt to the
budgetandrequirementsofeachprogram.
STUDENT LIFE
Seville is the ar:s:c, cultural and financial capital of Southern Spain. The city is
renowned for its warm climate and friendly culture, making it an ideal segng for
languagelearning,culturalintegra:onandprofessionaldevelopment.Astrollthrough
the city's winding cobblestone streets reveals a wide array of bustling sidewalk cafes
and tapas bars, spontaneous flamenco performances and an ac:ve nightlife.
Interna:onally known for the grandeur of its Easter Week processions and April Fair,
Seville offers a variety of rich cultural experiences set against historical Roman,
Muslim,andJewishinfluence.

InsouthernSpain,alongtheCostadelaLuz,youwillfindthebeachesofCadiz
with its 260 kilometres of coastline and some of the most beau:ful beaches
youcouldimagine.ThisAndalusianprovinceiswashedbytheAtlan:cOcean
andtheMediterraneanSea.Ithasmanyprotectednatureareaswhichinclude
saltflats,sanddunes,pineforests,pasturelandwherefigh:ngbullsarereared,
springs, cliffs... Here you will also find small fishing villages and tradi:onal
fishermen,withtheirwhitewashedhousesandpeacefulstreets.Youcanenjoy
theircrabandsportsshops,restaurantsofferingexcellent,localfreshfishand
shellfish,andopen-airterracebars

We consider housing accommoda:ons to be a key element to the success of any study or work abroad

Living with a local family is a wonderful opportunity to improve
your language skills and to expose oneself to local foods and
customs. Most of GlobalEd’s families have received interna:onal
students in the past and enjoy the daily interac:on. You will be

roommatepreferenceiftravelingwithafriend.

FACULTY HOUSING
Thecostoffacultyhousingisincludedintheprogramfeespaidbystudents.Themostcommonhousingplacementfor
faculty leaders is an independent, one bedroom or two bedroom, self-catered apartment. Programs that have two
teachersini:allyshareanapartment(separaterooms),however,theycanbeplacedinseparateapartmentsprovided
student enrollment reaches a minimum of 16. While the op:on to live with a host family with a full meal plan is
available, faculty tend to prefer the independence of the self-catered apartment. All placements typically have
WIFIaccessandincludereasonableuseofu:li:es.Housingassignmentsarecommunicatedpriortoarrival
in the form of a housing sheet. The detailed informa:on in our housing sheets describes the housing

interest.
Self-cateredApartments
Living in a self-catered apartment provides faculty with
more independence and privacy than living with a local
family. All apartments include reasonable use of u:li:es
and Wi-Fi access (unless otherwise stated). Most

Juan is from Seville, Spain and has been working in the study abroad sector since 2005 in various roles,
including study center director and career development instructor. He has an undergraduate degree in
legal studies from the University of Seville and an MBA from the Universidad Pablo de Olavide. He
completedaMasterinEduca:onwithaconcentra:oninBilingualVoca:onalTraining.
