The Model Citizen resource: • promotes student understanding of and engagement with a range of community issues • provides opportunities for students to explore global, national and local issues • encourages students to use a range of media, digital posters, animations and vodcasts to communicate ideas and concerns about a particular issue • offers an interactive student forum where students can voice their concerns and share their ideas. The Global Citizen Suitable for VELs level 6 and Beyond Comprises: Ethos : Vol 19, No 3, 2011 • an engaging poster of current global issues • information and resource sheets relevant to global issues • a template and image bank for students to create their own global issues posters • a poster gallery where students can upload their poster to share with others . 39 Students Can Create Their Own Global Issues Posters • use the image bank and poster template to create a digital poster • create their digital license from the template provided. Students Can Create A Digital Licence Active Citizen and Australian Citizen VELs levels 4 & 5 Contains: • engaging animations that explore current issues in Australia • vodcasts of young active citizens telling their stories • information sheets on Australian government and citizenship • a data bank of local, national and international organisations offering opportunities for active citizenship. • a gallery where students can upload their citizenship stories and animations to share with others Digital Citizen VELs levels 3, 4 & 5 This component of the Model Citizen focuses on the use of digital technology.
