Evidence Collection Tool Usage for Informal and Formal Observations Open formal or informal observation forms using the SCROLL icon (which you can see to the left of the FORM icon. 1. Enter evidence in the box. 2. Click on Evidence Review tab at the top of the observation form 3. There are three options: aligned evidence, unaligned evidence, evidence/score. Click on the unaligned evidence tab. 4. To align evidence click on the evidence on the left and select the indicator you would like to align the evidence to on the right. Click the align button in the top right corner. 5. Once all evidence is aligned, click on the evidence/score tab to review alignment. Score in the case of the observation would be used to indicate strength or area for growth rather than a “score” based on the summative rubric. 6. When all evidence is reviewed and “scored” (score option is used only for strength or area for growth selection if needed), click the SYNC button at the top left (see red arrow). It is okay to leave the box checked to clear evidence after sync (see blue arrow) – this will remove this evidence or you could choose to uncheck to the box and have the evidence remain in the tool even after it syncs to the observation form. If you return to the same form and re-‐sync with the box unchecked the data originally collected will be duplicated. 7. If you choose to also add evidence at the standard level while in the evidence collection tool be sure to save at the bottom of the form. The sync feature is only for indicator evidence. Remember, to see the data aligned to indicators, you must open the indicator window under the Standard evidence box. The indicator information is a collapsible window you can open/close on the form. Click to open indicator drop down Additionally, if you have submitted the form to the educator prior to syncing go to the form in question and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click, edit form. This will reopen the form and allow you to sync and then submit to the educator.
