BRIGHT HORIZON FOR
KURDISTAN REGION OF IRAQ
Thursday 11 December 2008, 9.30am – 2.00pm
Keynote speaker: Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman
At: London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, 33 Queen Street, London, EC4R 1AP
Export to Kurdistan in Iraq, Invest in the Future
Described as a success story in the Middle East, the Kurdistan Region in Iraq has been experiencing a period of unprecedented growth and
development. This economic boom is derived from the region’s stability, unity, resources and the introduction of positive fiscal and legal policies
to bolster economic growth and encourage international trade and investment.
The Kurdistan Region, often described as “The Other Iraq”,is ripe for investment in an array of sectors from the industrial and manufacturing,
to service provision, infrastructure development and education and training services, while a construction boom has generated demand for
building materials.
Already well-known brands such as Pepsi,Coca Cola and PriceWaterhouse Coopers have a presence in this region, while Austrian Airlines has
regular flights from Vienna to Erbil, the capital city. Smaller companies have found trading partners and representative agents for the whole of
Iraq in Kurdistan. There have been four British trade delegations to the Region since 2006, and many more from other countries.
If you are curious about the Kurdistan Region, the commercial gateway to Iraq, join us to find out more.
