Our first Scholars Bowl practice/planning
th
meeting is this Saturday, October 8 , from 10:15
to 12:15 in Meeting Room 3 of the Culp Center
(right across from the UB office)!
What is Scholars Bowl?
Scholars Bowl is a quiz bowl competition that
takes place in March of each year. ETSU’s
Upward Bound will put together a team that will
compete against the Scholars Bowl teams of
other Upward Bound programs across
Tennessee.
Do I have to be a genius to be on the
Scholars Bowl Team?
No! Scholars Bowl asks questions from a
variety of subjects: English, math, history,
science, geography, & pop culture. Anyone
who has a little knowledge in any of those
areas will be an asset to our team!
Besides being part of an awesome team,
what else to I get out of Scholars Bowl?



UB’s SGA met last Tuesday to reflect on the summer and talk about the upcoming year
The next SGA meeting will be Tuesday, November 1 from 5:15-6:15
The Scholars Bowl practices and
competition are a ton of fun and a
great way to make new friends in
Upward Bound.
Students who come to Scholars
Bowl practice get paid $10 cash for
each practice. (This money is to
help you pay for gas or to buy some
snacks from the BucMart to munch
on during practice.)
Scholars Bowl looks great on college
applications as another
extracurricular activity!
