Chris Wren, CEO, British Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (BritCham),
is dedicating a full day at LCCI to advise UK SMEs seeking to enter the
Indonesian market. His advice will be specific to your business needs and
will assess your readiness to export to this exciting and growing market.
If you would like to discuss the opportunities for your company in Indonesia
and book an individual appointment (45 minutes), please complete and
return the application form overleaf. We will then contact you to arrange
an appointment. Please note that places are limited.
Why Indonesia?
Indonesia, the largest economy in South East Asia (SEA), is a diverse
archipelago nation of more than 300 ethnic groups. It has charted
impressive economic growth since overcoming the Asian financial crisis of
the late 1990s. The country’s gross national income per capita has steadily
risen, from £520.00 (US$560) in the year 2000 to £3,065.00 (US$3, 834)
in 2015.
Today, Indonesia is the world’s fourth most populous nation and the
world’s tenth largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity. It is the
only permanent SEA country in the G20.
In partnership with:
The vast archipelago of Indonesia represents more than 40% of both
the GDP and the population of ASEAN. The consuming middle class is
estimated to number around 80 million in five years’ time, 60% of whom
will be under 32 years old. Indonesian demographics mean that there are
opportunities across all sectors, including:

However, there are still challenges to overcome. Market access can be
complex and time-consuming. Indonesia is more suited for businesses that
have prior export experience and can afford to look at market entry in
a strategic way. The BritCham can help you build a cost-effective visit
programme that will boost your in-country knowledge, expand your
networks and bring you into contact with pre-qualified partners.
