Introduction
The facility is open to the residents of our community as well as non
residents. They can attend Aerobic classes, seminars, nutrition and
fitness testing and counseling, as well as personal training, all at an
affordable cost.
The wellness staff will provide expert, accurate information, remain
current in their field of knowledge, and will respond in a timely manner
to suggestions made by the members. The wellness staff will work as a
team to achieve these goals.
Fitness Room
The fitness room is available to those that have a membership with
Turner Recreation. as long as we are within regular
business hours.
See the bulletin board for rules and closures of the weight room. Never
lift weights by yourself. Always ask a member of staff to help you in the
weight room if you are trying something new. We highly recommend
that you complete and orientation and/ or sign up for a personal trainer.
Do not drop the weights on the floor.
Return the weight equipment to
the proper storage location when you are done. Please don't be offended
if a staff member corrects your technique. This is in your best interest,
to ensure you do not get injured from poor technique.
Rules and Regulations

All members must complete a fitness room orientation before
using any equipment. All participants are responsible for being
familiar and complying with the policies and regulations of the
Turner Recreation Fitness Room. Please see the front office with
any questions.

Children aged 13 and under are not permitted in the fitness
room at any time. This includes strollers, baby carriers and
children sitting inside the fitness room area while a parent/

guardian is exercising. Children aged 13 and under are not

Teens between the ages of 14-17 may use the fitness room
equipment when accompanied by an adult member that is
responsible for direct supervision. An adult is defined as
someone 18 years of age or older and direct supervision is
defined as being immediately adjacent to the machine that the
child is using. The adult may be using an adjacent machine or
standing next to the machine that the child is on.

Participants are required to have a current Fitness Room ID card
to workout. Driver's Licenses are unacceptable. Fitness Room ID
cards are free of charge and are issued through the Fitness
Room Trainer at the time of orientation.

Participants are required to “Sign in” and “Sign out” at the front
office or in the fitness room during each workout visit.

worn, ensure they are clean and dry before using the
fitness equipment.

Participants must wear a full length T-shirt or tank
top at all times. No half shirts or tube tops. Sports
bras must be worn with an appropriate shirt. Plastic
or rubber suits are unacceptable.

Jeans, jean shorts and excessively loose fitting
clothing are not permitted. Apparel with zippers,
chains, rivets, & buckles (non work-out belts or non
medical prescribed belts), is not allowed.

No smoking, smokeless tobacco products, alcohol and illicit
drugs are permitted on or in the Turner Recreation property.
Participants under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be
asked to leave the facility.

Absolutely no Fitness Room equipment will be loaned out or
borrowed at any time.


All equipment is first come, first served. During peak times
there is a 20-minute time limit on cardio equipment.


Improve your techniques and enhance your motivation! For this incredible price, you can call for an appointment to meet with a certified personal trainer, one time per week. Sessions will last from 30
to 45 minutes depending on your needs. Choose from programs like
nutrition, weight loss, strength, flexibility and cardiovascular training. Appointments are scheduled with the personal trainer. (Included

Lockers/Restrooms
There are restrooms on both levels of the Turner Recreation
Building. The lockers are located on the lower level next to the
fitness room. Lockers are for daily use only. Please remove your
belongings after your workout. Please bring your own lock. Please
do not leave locks on the lockers over night. Towel and disinfectant
are available on the shelves in the fitness room.
Emergency Procedures
If any injury occurs, please contact a member of the Turner
Recreation & Fitness Room staff immediately. First Aid supplies are
available and will be dispensed with discretion by the staff member
on duty. Accident report forms must be completed by each injured
party. Please cooperate fully with this procedure.
Turner Recreation staff, which will have been notified by the Fire
Department. Fire alarms and extinguishers are located
conspicuously in the Turner Recreation Building. In the event of a
tornado, a staff member will direct you to the lower level locker
room or boiler room. Stay away from glassed areas. When it is
determined that the threat of a tornado no longer exists, the
Recreation Staff will announce an "all clear" over the radio in which
the TRC staff member will then guide you back to your starting
areas.
Enrollment
The Turner Recreation will accept payments for every six months
that you plan on attending our fitness room. Please bring your cash,
check, or money order, (payable to Turner Recreation), and a photo
ID. Each registration members are required to sign an enrollment
form/waiver. New members must attend a fitness screening/
orientation Tuesday or Thursday evening between 6:30 and
8:30pm. Prices subject to change please check in the front office.
The Fitness Screening (Personal Training Only) & Orientation
You will be asked to sign the consent and release form and provide
your medical history by answering health questions, which will be
kept confidential. We will check your resting heart rate and blood
pressure as part of your screening. If you have any medical
