HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM UNITED PAWS Deck the halls with cats and kittens Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la. Tis the season to be spaying Neutering and spaying, every one. Come along to see our kitties— black or white, big or small, we love them all— so adopt one who is better than the plastic stuff you'll buy at the mall! Come to our next adoptathon on Saturday, December 20th, noon to 3 p.m. at the 4-H Dorm, Tillamook County Fairgrounds, and meet our marvelous cats. Please call United Paws at (503) 842-5663 or go to www.unitedpaws.org for application or to view all available animals. United Paws, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, relies on public donations. United Paws has paid over $40,000 to local veterinarians, primarily for spay/neuter surgeries, this year so far. This money comes from generous Tillamook County donors, as well as out-of-county and out-of-state Foundations and Trusts that believe in the work of United Paws, which is to assist the economically disadvantaged with their pet sterilization expenses. This is money that would not otherwise be spent in our county. The more we can raise locally from individual Tillamook County donors, Foundations, groups, clubs, and churches, the more outside Foundations and Trusts will donate to us. So please give as generously as you can, so that others less fortunate can enjoy the companionship of pets without the terrible burden of unwanted litters of kittens and puppies. Thank you. United Paws, PO Box 159,Tillamook, Oregon 97141. EMERGENCY Twelve cats urgently need homes before year-end. Nine males and three females. These cats have that unique extra toe (polydactyl), and all are orange or orange and white – to quote a well-known cat behaviorist, the orange cats, especially the males, tend to be the most friendly of all cat breeds. These cats can be indoors/outdoors (in a safe area) and have been raised with dogs. The cats vary in age from 5 months to 2 1/2 years and have been socialized. These are special and highly adoptable cats because of their color, extra toes and loving personalities. All will be either United Paws spayed/neuter prior to or after adoption, since time is so short to save them. BUDDY Trapped with a group of feral cats, at a local commercial center, to be spayed/neutered & returned to caregivers, this big guy surprised all by being very friendly, too good natured for the desperate daily existence feral cats experience. Taken into foster, Buddy is ready to go to his own indoor home. Buddy is a Manx about 5-6 years old. FIREFLY HOUDINA After a car hit a house at 2 am and caused a house fire, Firefly was the only one to make it out of the house without severe burns. Her owner was rushed to the hospital and has a long road ahead of him on healing. Because of this, and lack of residence he chose to surrender Firefly to United Paws so she could find a new home. Firefly (named the day she was rescued) suffered from smoke inhalation and shock. The firemen on the scene saved her life. She is now fully recovered. She is overly affectionate and wants to be everybody's friend. Now spayed, she should be indoor-only, as she has already used up a few of her nine lives. Her hair is medium length and she does groom herself. Rescued from under a porch at only 5-wks old, lovely Houdina is still waiting for the perfect home. This dilute torti is socialized with dogs and other cats. Now 5 months, spayed, shots current. She is the oldest fostered kitten in her home and it is her turn to be adopted! SEVEN KITTENS These 7 kittens were rescued by a very kind person from a vacant field some weeks ago and are in the process of becoming tamed. They are about 12 wks old. We are working with them daily and expect them to be adoptable this month. However, if you like a challenge, let us know. We can give you tips on socializing. Will you tame the beast? ODIN LILLY Lilly is a retired headmistress from the Institute for Ill Mannered Kittens. She is responsible for the box training of countless young cats during her career. She comes to you spayed, box trained. As she is retired, she would do best in a home with no other cats. She does love people. Background: Lilly is 3-year old whose owner died after a short illness. Lilly was left alone in the apartment, fed only by relatives until she was finally taken into foster. MOON Moon, what lights up the night. Moon, who lights up your life. 5-month old Moon is a well socialized, sleek and shiny black female kitten. She is litter box trained and ready to go home with you. Comes with a spay certificate. STAR Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are. A kitten! Star is a jet-black kitten. She is well-socialized and has great manners. The runt of the litter, Star will always be small, but she is mighty. Spay certificate and current on shots. Odin is my name, Norse God of War is my game. Like my namesake, the infamous Odin, I am brave, courageous and true. I had an injury to one of my eyes, and although I can't see out of it, that doesn't stop me from playing like crazy and looking for a nice lap to sit. More a lover than a fighter. You really can't see what a purrfect feline specimen I am from my pictures, so please come see me in person! Neutered, shots current – year old. SCRUFFY Scruffy came to the foster house in 2007, surviving last winter and the nasty storm in their shed. He was matted and dirty, thus his name. He yearned to come inside and did. Problem is - the resident cat taunts mellow and kind hearted Scruffy. Scruffy is a neutered Maine Coon/Burmese mix who would love to have his own home and human family. On special diet. SIMBA Simba has the grace and elegance of her wild feline ancestors, but she is no hunter/gatherer! Left behind when her former owner moved away, Simba much prefers the good life inside a house. Her shiny coal-black coat is spectacular and she just loves to have you stroke that beautiful fur. She adores people and gets along well with dogs, but prefers to be the only cat. Other cats make her want to escape to the wilds of the outside! Adult only home would work the best for her. Simba is a mere 2 years old, spayed and is current on all her vaccines. Could you provide that perfect home for this beauty of a cat? TROUBLE MAGYRA 3 month old solid grey male. This guy is current on shots and itching to go now that the rest of the litter has been adopted. Comes with neuter certificate. SWEETIE He truly lives up to his name. He is a “talker” and will take all the attention you can give. He's a sleek black and brown neutered tabby about 2 years old, litter box trained, current on shots, and neutered. He loves to play with other cats, dogs, and people. Trouble is an orange male cat that is 12 weeks old. He plays all day long with everything and everyone in the household, which includes large dogs, other cats and small children. He even knows how to use the computer. At night, he becomes an absolute lover who just wants to be cuddled on your lap. He will sleep on top of the covers on your bed or under the blankets, your choice. Current with shots and comes with neuter certificate. BUBBA Is your living room overrun with catnip mice? Bubba will make short order of them!!...Bubba is an approximately one year old, handsome, neutered male. Loves attention and is great with other cats. Litterboxtrained and is looking for his forever person. Current with inoculations.
