If you have seen the movie, "City Slickers" as many times as I have, you will remember the scene where
the three men were riding along on the cattle drive and one of the men ask Billy Crystal this question.
"What was the best day of your life and what was the worst day?" It made me think about my life, and
then I began to think about all those that witnessed the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. For the
thief on the cross, I think it was his best and worst day. He was dying for his crime, but as he listened &
watched Jesus he made a request. He said, "Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom."
Jesus answers, " Today you will be with me in paradise." That had to be his best day even though he was
dying. Remember the Roman soldier. He stood at the foot of the cross. He heard Jesus say, "Father
forgive them for they don't know what they are doing." He heard what Jesus told the thief. He
witnesses the earthquake and he said, " Surely this must be the Son of God." It was his worst day
because he had been a part of the crucifixion. It was his best day because he realized who Jesus was
and it seems to me, he believed. Hopefully his life was changed forever. The next few days we
remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us when He gave His life and then the day He rose from the
grave. We were not there when this happened, but your best day will be the day we ask Jesus to
remember us and forgive us and when we acknowledge Him as our Savior as the soldier did, Jesus is the
Son of God who came not to condemn us, but to forgive us. God bless you all and see you on Sunday.
