From the General Manager…
Hello Lookout Point!
Can you believe that yet another golf season has come and gone? Thank you for your support in making this
season a success! This has to have been the fastest season in my career. Time flies when you are having fun!
Obviously, there has been a lot going on over the past few months. We have been busy with a lot of
conversations with you all. It has been great to see and hear the positive feedback that you have been sharing
with us. Your support going into 2016 is much appreciated and we are looking forward to some great years
ahead of us. If we can be of any assistance in answering any questions or alleviating your concerns about our
“Trial Membership” program please call or stop by the office. Many of you have inquired about making your
payments in the New Year, and we will try to be as accommodating as possible.
I would like to acknowledge our management team for their tireless efforts throughout the season. It has been
great to get to know them and work with them. JJ Alexander, Head Golf Professional; Patti Klenavic-Croft, Food
and Beverage Manager; Abbey Solomon, Executive Chef; Aldo Bortolon, Golf Course Superintendent and Claire
Legarde, Office/Accounts Manager.
It is important to thank all the Volunteers for both the Board of Directors and each of the member committees
this year as well. It is very much appreciated that you take the time out of your own busy schedules to help us
deliver a great member experience to all the members at LOPCC.
We have already started planning for next year. We want to hear from all of you. Each year the MGMT team is
always looking for some new fresh ideas. We will be recruiting once again for the various committees, so if you
are interested in volunteering your time for the betterment of the club, please let us know. There will be a
notice sent out early in the New Year and at that time we will ask for your application/nomination.
Our Annual Members Christmas Party is quickly approaching on Saturday, December 5. Please remember to
sign up online or call the F&B office to reserve your table. It will be a great way to kick off the holiday season!
Don’t forget that Lookout Point is open throughout the winter for private functions. Please keep us in mind in
the upcoming months for your company business meetings, brunches, luncheons and dinner parties. We are
happy to host large or small groups, retirement parties, company training, or special fund-raising events with
guest speakers. Not to mention that LOPCC is a great setting for your family/holiday Christmas parties. We
thank you for bringing your business to us throughout the 2015 season! For further information on booking
your off-season meeting or gathering, contact: Patti Croft at 905-892-2639 ext. 237 or via email at
[email protected].
Thank you again for choosing Lookout Point Country Club as your Home Club.
I wish you all a great holiday season, and happy 2016!
Good golfing!
Sincerely,
Dan Greenwood, PGA
General Manager
Operating Committee Volunteers
Are you interested in serving on one of our many
operating committees for the 2016 season? If you
are interested, please contact Dan Greenwood to
get your name on the list.
From the Green Room…
The golf season is about finished now as we’re busy cleaning up the fallen leaves and continuing with our Fall
projects. We have now completed the stone base on #11 cart path and in the spring we will be adding mulch
to top it off. We will also put in/repair cart paths, as time allows on # 12, 13 & 16.
Our final cultural practice on the greens this season will be our annual deep-tyne verti-drain and topdressing.
The importance of this procedure allows the greens to go into the “winter freeze”, drier than normally, allowing
the roots to take in as much oxygen as possible thus allowing the roots to grow longer and healthier.
We will also continue to repair worn areas throughout the course with sod, prune trees and add additional
drainage around green sites.
I would like to finally take this opportunity to thank all the members who have sent me positive emails regarding
course conditions this year, very much appreciated. I would also like to thank this year’s Green Committee for
all your participation and continued support: Ellen Anscombe, Wayne Houtby, Terry Smith, Tom Cottringer,
David Grant, Jay Gagnon, Matt Graham, Frank Mortensen, Doug Fast and Ian Penney.
Let’s all hope we have a normal winter and looking forward to seeing everyone in the spring.

"NEW" TaylorMade M1 - the "Un-Metal wood"
There's plenty of excitement around TaylorMade's new Driver and line of Woods/Hybrids. The M1 is a
significant departure from the SLDR and R15 models and has created a lot of buzz on tour with players such
as Jason Day and Justin Rose securing wins with the M1 in their bag. The M stands for Multi-Material and
it’s the key that unlocks performance in M1. This construction is highlighted by a 7-layer Carbon Composite
Crown that is precision-formed and built ultra-thin, ultra-lite and high strength to maximize weight
savings. The result of this is increase ball speed and even more distance. In addition there are a ton of
customizable options include 3 different stock shaft choices, and weight porting that allows you to effect
draw/fade bias as well as high/mid/low launch angles.
Need another reason to come in and check out the M1 - how about our member price of
$549.99. That’s a savings of $50 when compared to the current pricing at retail stores.

From the Golf Shop…
With the season coming to an end, I wanted to remind members that still have Golf Shop Credits on account that they
will expire at the end of the season. (Note: If you won credits at a closing event, only these can be carried to next year.)
Please ensure that you spend them before the season is over. We still have good selection of merchandise in house and
also have a Titleist free personalization ball promo that would make a great stocking stuffer for Christmas. No minimums
and all orders booked before December 9th will arrive in time for Christmas. Orders can be sent to J.J. Alexander at
[email protected]. Please see the flyer in the newsletter or visit the Golf Shop.
Our range will be closing on Saturday, November 7th for the season. Golf Shop will remain open for the month of
November. Golf Shop will remain open 7 days a week until Sunday, November 15th. As of the 16th of November hours of
operation will be from 9am-5pm Mon-Friday and closed on the weekends. If you still have not picked up your clubs from
storage please do so to ensure that you have them in case you need them over the winter months.
On behalf of the Golf Shop Staff; Jen, Helen, Mary Jane, Al, JJ and Dan we would like to sincerely thank each and every
member for their support in the Golf Shop this year. With the majority of the staff being new to Lookout Point you made
everyone feel welcome and part of the Lookout Point Community. We appreciate everybody who took the time to give
us feedback on the Golf Shop survey and through conversations in the Golf Shop. We are committed to continuing to
improve the Golf Shop experience and bring you the products and services you are looking for in 2016.
From the entire Golf Shop staff we thank all of you for a great season and wish all of you the best over the holidays. Look
forward seeing all of you back in April!
