EM 12.1.0.3 will allow you:
– Perform fresh Install of EM 12.1.0.3
– Upgrade to EM 12.1.0.3 from (10.2.0.5, 11.1, 12.1.0.1 (with BP1), 12.1.0.2)
All the platform will be released on same day !

EM 12.1.0.3 Install - What's New
Configure Software Library while doing EM install simple and adv install
Requirements:
– Recommend this option to customers to save time post install
– Mounted location on the OMS host so that the same location can be used when you install
additional OMS instances
– OMS process owner has read/write access to that location
– Oracle recommends that you maintain the Software Library outside the Middleware Home
– if install EM for a test environment and do not want to provide a mounted location, then you can
provide a local file system location. In this case, after the installation, make sure you migrate to a
mounted location, software lib migration steps in adv install guide
Software lib location is prefilled based on your middleware location

How does EM 11.2.0.3 DB templates work?
1.
Download template 11.2.0.3_Database_Template_for_EM12_1_0_3__<platform>.zip
from OTN
2.
Install DB 11.2.0.3 (Software only OR Install & configure )
3.
Copy the EM 11.1.0.3 DB template to <DB home>/assistants/dbca/templates
4.
Unzip 11.2.0.3_Database_Template_for_EM12_1_0_3__<platform>.zip
5.
Invoke dbca from <DB home>/bin/
6.
Pick your template :Small, Medium, Large
7.
Finish the configuration
Usecase: Install DB with small template and then pick medium deployment type while doing
EM install then you can run the respective sql to fix the db parameters.

EM 12.1.0.3 installer applies patch 14482558 and patch 13349651 on the Oracle WebLogic
Server 10.3.6 that gets installed with EM 12.1.0.3 installer Recommended !
– If you are using an existing WLS 10.3.6 then user has to make sure that you apply these patches
manually (using wls smart utility) before starting the EM install.

Best Practice for EM 12.1.0.3 Install
Make sure that the binaries downloaded from OTN have correct
byte/checksum value as displayed on OTN
Make sure that after you unzip the binaries you have following folder:
Use EM Installer to install WLS.
Use DB template to configure database that will house the EM
repository
