Dear Families,
Welcome back to school! I hope that you enjoyed the past week with your family and friends.
My daughter and I had a “staycation”, and enjoyed a few excursions to the city.
Please make note of the following general reminders and announcements:
• We are a uniform school. Kindly ensure that your child wears their school uniform every
day. As the weather gets warmer it is important to remember that children are not to
wear open toe shoes and sandals to school.
• We will be having an End of Year Parent Conference on May 13th from 4:30-7:30. At this
event your child will share their portfolio with you. You will receive more information on
this event soon.

Congratulations to our 4th graders! You had an amazing performance with Mr. Keith!
Our 5th graders were invited to participate in a three-week musical theater residency
with Rosie’s Kids, the organization founded by Rosie O’Donnell! This special residency will
begin in May.
We had an awesome Family Game Night on April 1st! It was great to see so many of you
playing with your children.
June 3rd is Culture Night! This PS 17 tradition is in its 3rd year, and we hope that you will
all come out and bring a dish to share. Please see our Parent Association President,
Brenda Carrasco or our Parent Coordinator, Dina Pilios for more information.
