New England Students. This is a one year commitment. Join the work of reaching students in
New England: America’s Educational Capital. New England Students is a network of collegiate
ministries and churches that exists to see a generation of New England college students
passionate for Christ and His church. The statistics may seem daunting: 60% of the 237 colleges
and universities in the region have very little, if any, Christian witness. But you can be part of a
growing team that is making a difference. (See additional information below.)
All applications must be submitted no later than Monday, March 23, 2016. SendMeNow will be
offering the “New England Students” opportunity to one student; however, others who may be
interested are welcome to apply directly. Please note the information below about raising

Join the work of reaching students in New England: America’s Educational Capital. New
England Students is a network of collegiate ministries and churches that exists to see a
generation of New England college students passionate for Christ and His church. The
statistics may seem daunting: 60% of the 237 colleges and universities in the
region have very little, if any, Christian witness. But you can be part of a growing team
that is making a difference.
1. The Nations in the Smallest State
Providence is the capital of Rhode Island and home to six major colleges. A
growing team of collegiate ministers is in the city and working with Grace Harbor
Church. Working with the team, you will develop and implement a plan to build
relationships, share the gospel, and make disciples among international students. In
the neighborhood of the church there are students from more than 75 different countries
studying at the universities in this beautiful and dynamic city.
2. The Main(e) Thing
Small groups of students are meeting for Bible study and fellowship on multiple
college campuses in Southern Maine. The Bridge, a Southern Baptist ministry,
connects students with Christ, Community, and Church. Lead students on campus to
connect their friends, make disciples, and personally share the gospel as you develop
and implement a plan to reach a campus in the Portland, ME area. While serving as
part of the larger Maine collegiate team, you will be the face of the ministry on the
campus you serve. You will learn missionary skills first-hand and gain an appreciation
for church planting as you connect students to church.
3. Wuh-stah!
Worcester, MA (see title for pronunciation) is the second largest city in New
England. Just over 40,000 students study in the city at colleges like the Worcester
Polytechnic University, Worcester State University, Becker College, the College of the
Holy Cross, and Anna Maria College - to name just a few. Have you ever thought what
it would be like to attend a University that is officially “closed” to evangelical Christian
witness? That is a reality for students at some of the colleges in Worcester. Join a
collegiate team in Worcester that is reaching students and discipling them in partnership
with new church plants across the city. Skills needed: creativity, perseverance, and
desire to see students respond to Jesus.
4. Big Numbers in Boston
New England is America’s educational capital; Boston is its hub. Join a team
reaching students in the city of Boston. You will experience the excitement of this large
city in the context of collegiate ministry and church planting. More than sixty campuses,
more than 100,000 students, from nearly everywhere. Opportunities include a diversity
of campuses and cultures: come prepared to think like a missionary and grow as a
leader.
5. Vermont + 3
What happens when small college meets small town? Not much in the way of
evangelistic witness; but the collegiate ministry team in Vermont is changing that picture
on campuses across the state. This unique opportunity is a 3 year commitment. In the
first year you will serve alongside an existing ministry before starting a new work on a
new campus in years 2 and 3. Are you a self-starter eager to see a community that has
little witness hear the good news of Jesus?
6. Lil’ Rhody
Rhody Christian Fellowship (rhodyfellowship.com) at the University of Rhode
Island seeks to know and follow Jesus Christ resulting in a life of love, service, and
leadership. The ministry exists in small groups throughout the campus and is active in
1:1 discipleship. The University is majority female and Rhody Christian Fellowship is
seeking a female to join the staff in serving the students of URI. Disciple collegiate
women who are asking hard questions about God, Jesus, the Bible and Christianity
while presenting the gospel.
All of the opportunities above include mentoring from experienced mission leaders,
church planters, and collegiate ministers. Over the course of the year you will work with
a collegiate-focused team and grow as you are lead through appropriate materials for
the mission, fellowship with other local leaders, and disciple students.
Two leader training events and two collegiate events will be provided each year of
service for development, growth, fellowship, and encouragement with collegiate
missionaries from across the six-state New England region.
Recent college graduates will need to raise approximately $24,000 per year for this
mission, though this number varies on individual circumstance and location. In
partnership with the North American Mission Board, qualified applicants will receive
100% of raised funds. New England Students will provide travel expenses and
registration for a week long fundraising training that will empower the missionary to
achieve this goal. For those who desire to take seminary classes while in New England,
our network will also provide the 1st year of books. Travel to collegiate events,
programming funding, and a stipend for participating in or leading a student mission trip
will also be provided.
All collegiate missionaries have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced in
Scripture reading, witnessing, and participation in a local church. We are a team and
joyfully serve together.
