Calendar of Events
March, 2012
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
DR. SUESS!
In honor of the 108th birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel (Born Mar 2, 1904),
the Library System will be featuring special programs at the Glades Road
Branch, Greenacres Branch, Jupiter Branch, Main Library Okeechobee
Blvd. Branch, Wellington Branch, and West Boca Branch during the first
week of March.
Ted Geisel, a political cartoonist, turned beloved author of children's books
was known for his whimsical style of illustration, and sing-song surrealistic rhyming. The lyrical quality of his writing became required reading
for generations of young readers. Among his most famous works are “The
Cat in the Hat,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue
Fish,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!,” “Fox in Socks,” and “Horton
Hears a Who!” Many of his stories have been adapted to television, movies,
video games, and even a Broadway musical.
Check the calendar listings to find a program near you.
