Bullying over the years has became a trend in every high
school. This is a growing problem not only in high school
classrooms but also affecting their sports teams. An
example of this issue is as follows: On a Monday night at
Sayreville War Memorial High School in Parlin, New Jersey
during a meeting with the players’ parents, they made an
announcement that the season has been canceled over
allegations of bullying, harassment among players. On
Tuesday after school-the district had officially canceled
Sayreville War Memorial High School football season due to
bullying. This was a big blow to the community because
football is everything especially high school football. But the
Superintendent Richard Labbe said" the allegations are
very serious and very true. We have to send a serious
message that this type of behavior will not be tolerated. As
a district we will cancel our season". This article is proof that
school is a place for learning,
Sports don't come first and that's what most student
athletes nowadays fail to realize. You shouldn't have poor
grades and still be allowed to do a sport even if they’re very
good at it. I know that some student athletes feel they can
get away with mostly anything because I myself use to feel
that way when I first began running track. In student-athlete,
student come before athlete, you can't half do anything and
think your outcome is supposed to be better than before or
have a lot of growth. Last year, I half did my school work
and didn't give my all at my track practices, it took me not
making it to state championships and almost failing for me
to humble myself as a student and an athlete and so far my
senior year I've been focused in class and my grades are
great! It takes a lot of stress off of me knowing that I'm
getting my education. The point I'm trying to make is that
your education is important and sometimes you forget that
and something has to happen to make you realize that
point.

After-school Activities Bus
This is a reminder that the 5:15 p.m. activities bus is for the students
who are participating in the after-school and athletics programs only.
Students who are not participating in an after-school activities on that
day MAY NOT ride the 5:15p.m. bus. As we love to spend time with the
children, we are finding that some students are just staying back at the
building to hang out with friends. Any students in the building or on the
campus after school must be participating in one of the school’s program.
All students must be picked up by 3:30pm if they are not participating in
an after-school program. Students will not be allowed on the 5:15pm bus
if they are not participating in a program. We have a programs and
tutoring after school—ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD to sign up.
The Bus is a Privilege
Any student in violation of the bus expectations can and will be suspended
from the transportation service. Please discuss with your child the
importance of the transportation provided by school, which is for their
education and your convenience. All handbook expectations apply on the
bus. Any student transported on the bus and leave the building to go to
the store will be marked late if they are tardy to class. This is for their
safety. The bus expectations are below:
