Use of interesting vocabulary : convenience, assistance, vehi-
cle, motor, solemn, apparently, attachment, orphan, explanation, cardiovascular.
Topic:
Learn about where and when the Mayas lived in
the world.
To find the present day locations and compare
to the past.
Label the continents of North and South America.

Project to build a Maya pyramid from recycled
materials ( three week project).

To discuss the new vocabulary and ask the child to think up a
complex sentence containing the word.
Use online thesaurus or a thesaurus to determine meaning of new
vocabulary. Encourage to write in a sentence using their new
Writing Target.
