Hola familias!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Dia de Gracias! It was very nice meeting so
many of you during Spanish night, thank you for coming!
Before our warm-up this morning, we practiced asking each other “¿Cómo
estás?” by passing a patata around the circle. I explained to mis amigos that in
Spain, when someone takes your picture they tell you “ di patata” the same way
that we tell people “say cheese.” (We wouldn't use cheese in Spanish, because
when you say queso, your mouth puckers up and you don’t smile.)
The days are starting to get cold, so after our warm-up songs, we practiced
talking about the cold weather and cold weather clothing. We started with a
chant:
Cierra la puerta, por favor.
Hace frío, no calor.
Para Practicar
Hace frío
It’s cold out
Tengo frío
I’m cold
El invierno
Winter
Afuera
Outside
Close the door, please.
It’s cold, not hot.
Los guantes
Two green and brown boots
A green coat
Two blue gloves
A black and white hat
A purple scarf
After that, we sang a song that talked about how cold it is outside and what we
need to wear when we go out in the winter. Toso sang it first, and did a little
dance, and then we all got up and joined him to sing.

El gorro

A friend came help us with our discussion: Toso el oso (Toso the bear). Toso
was all dressed up to go outside. After he said hello to each amigo, he showed
us his winter clothes and we practiced saying them with him.
Hasta el próximo martes!
llamo Toso.
Cosas de clase

bundle up. We looked at pictures of winter clothes and practiced saying the

Un gorro blanco y negro :
Una bufanda morada :
