Hoosier Hills Insurance Acquires
Bowden Agency
Hoosier Hills Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of HHCU, recently announced
its acquisition of Bowden Insurance Agency – creating the region’s leading
provider of insurance products to businesses and consumers.
The Bowden Insurance Agency has been providing quality insurance
products from top insurance companies since 1980. As an independent,
multi-line agency representing A+ rated insurance companies, their
agency has more than 50 years of combined experience.
“We are extremely excited to have the talented and highly regarded
employees of Bowden Insurance Agency joining our organization,” said
Jay Strauss, president of Hoosier Hills Insurance. “The combined strength of
our two organizations gives us the capacity to bring the best in insurance
and service solutions to our clients and members.”
The merging of Hoosier Hills Insurance and Bowden Insurance Agency
expands the expertise available to the clients of both organizations,
particularly in the areas of personal lines and business insurance. The
acquisition will be seamless to Bowden Insurance Agency customers, as
Hoosier Hills Insurance will retain all Bowden Insurance Agency employees.
President Charlie Bowden of Bowden Insurance Agency will also join
Hoosier Hills Insurance as an Insurance Producer.
“This acquisition greatly expands the number of companies we represent
together, establishing a formidable network of independent agency
companies,” said Strauss. “This will allow our agents to offer even more
competitive quotes and pricing on the policies and services we offer.”
George McNichols, president of Hoosier Hills Credit Union, said, “We’re
really pleased to be adding some of the most talented and respected
leaders in the insurance business to our team. The Credit Union is
committed to building a top-of-the-line, independent insurance
agency for the long-term benefit of our retail, commercial and public
unit members.”
‘Tis the Season for Skip-a-Pay!
At HHCU, we understand that budgets sometimes need a little breathing
room – especially after the flurry of the holiday shopping season. That’s
why we offer members the option to skip one loan payment a year in
either the month of January or April! There is a low fee of just $25 to skip a
loan payment, which will be added to the balance of each qualified loan
any time a member takes advantage of the Skip-a-Pay option.*
To be eligible for Skip-a-Pay, you must meet the
following criteria:
 Loan cannot have been delinquent within the past 12 months.
 Loan must have been open for more than six months.
 Skip-a-Pay request must be received at least one day before the
payment is due.
 Members can only skip one payment per calendar year.
 Skip-a-Pay is only available on Signature, Automobile, Motorcycle and RV loans.
To sign up for Skip-a-Pay, stop by your local branch or visit www.hoosierhills.com. Your request must be
received by January 17th in order to skip your January payment. So don’t delay – Skip-a-Pay today!
*Interest will continue to accrue on the unpaid balance during the month you skip your payment, and when payments resume, the unpaid interest will be collected first. No refunds of
already applied payments.

This year’s election will again be conducted by mail ballot. If you are a credit union
member, at least 18 years of age or older and not older than 80, and are interested in
running for the Board of Directors or Supervisory Committee, you need to pick up an
official petition and candidate application form at 630 Lincoln Ave., Bedford, Indiana.
To have your name placed on the ballot, the petition must be signed by 5% of credit
union members who are at least 16 years of age and returned to the credit union
along with the completed application form and picture of yourself by noon on
February 4, 2014.
If there is only one nominee for each position to be filled, the election will not be
conducted by ballot and there will be no nomination from the floor, as the nominees
will be elected to the positions by acclamation. If an election is necessary, ballots
will be mailed with the first quarter statements. Ballots will need to be received by
the election teller no later than midnight, May 16, 2014. The election results will be
announced at the annual meeting on May 21, 2014.
