The 2016 MPSF Championship featured 19 universities comprised from members of the Pac-12, Big West, and West Coast Conferences. A total of 19 women’s teams competed for a conference title, along with 14 on the men’s side. At the conclusion of the two-day meet, the top-ranked Oregon women won their fourth MPSF title with 108 points, 34.25 points ahead of second-place Stanford. The ninth-ranked USC men won their first MPSF title in just their second year in the conference, edging BYU 90.50-82. USC women and UCLA men took home the bronze. As was the case in 2015, the 2016 championship meet featured five MPSF records. Perhaps the most impressive performance came from Washington’s MPSF Athlete of the Meet Izaic Yorks, who ran the fastest ever mile by an American in NCAA Indoor history. He finished in a UW, MPSF, and Dempsey Facility record 3:53.89, the top national indoor mile of 2016 and third-fastest ever. Every step had to be fought for, as Stanford’s Sean McGorty was just six hundredths of a second behind (3:53.95), the No. 2 NCAA mile last year. The second men’s record came in the 60-meter hurdles, as Oregon’s Devon Allen broke both the MPSF and Dempsey record in 7.60, a sprint which also tied for the nation’s top time in 2016. For the women, Oregon’s Deajah Stevens ran the 200-meter in 23.14, taking down the oldest MPSF women’s record from 2002. USC’s Amalie Iuel accumulated a conference record 4,444 pentathlon points--bringing down a 2006 standard—en route to athlete of the meet honors. Additionally, the Arizona 4x400 meter relay team finished in an MPSF and facility record 3:32.54, a conference record which had been broken three times in the past four years. 2017 MPSF Indoor Track & Field • Page 4 MEN’S & WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONS 1992-93 1993-94 1994-95 1995-96 1996-97 1997-98 1998-99 1999-00 2000-01 2001-02 2002-03 2003-04 2004-05 2005-06 2006-07 2007-08 2008-09 2009-10 2010-11 2011-12 2012-13 2013-14 2014-15 2015-16 Men’s Indoor Track & Field MPSF NCAA Utah State Arkansas Arizona Arkansas Arizona Arkansas Arizona George Mason Idaho Arkansas Washington State Arkansas Stanford Arkansas Stanford Arkansas Washington State LSU UCLA Tennessee UCLA Arkansas UCLA LSU UCLA LSU Washington Arkansas Washington Wisconsin Oregon Arizona State UCLA Oregon UCLA Florida Stanford Florida Arizona State Florida Arizona State Arkansas California Oregon Oregon Oregon USC Oregon Women’s Indoor Track & Field MPSF NCAA UNLV LSU Utah State LSU Arizona LSU Washington LSU Stanford LSU Stanford Texas Washington State Texas Washington State UCLA Arizona UCLA Arizona LSU Stanford LSU Stanford LSU Stanford LSU Stanford Texas Arizona State Arizona State Arizona State Arizona State Stanford Tennessee Oregon Oregon Oregon Oregon Stanford Oregon Oregon Oregon USC Oregon USC Arkansas Oregon Oregon 2017 MPSF Indoor Track & Field • Page 5 MOUNTAIN PACIFIC SPORTS FEDERATION INDOOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP MEET RECORDS TRACK EVENTS Mark 55 Meter Dash 6.06 55 Meter Hurdles 7.25 60 Meter Dash 6.51 60 Meter Hurdles 7.60 200 Meters 20.75 400 Meters 46.04 800 Meters 1:46.73 Mile 3:53.89 3,000 Meters 7:44.48 5,000 Meters 13:41.58 1,600 Meter Relay 3:06.98 Dist.
