UNIVERSITY FAIR
MYP-IBDP
This fair is important since we were able to communicate and clarify our
doubts with well-known university representatives. In fact, they gave us a lot of
information how to grab opportunities to pursue
higher education in the United States.
We eagerly look forward to have similar
university fairs. I thank the whole school
body who made this possible for us!

PYP Workshop
A
PYP
workshop for PYP teachers on Introduction
to the PYP Curriculum Model was
organised on 5th Sept. 2015.
The purpose of the workshop was to
introduce the PYP as a systemic and all
-encompassing curriculum and to
develop the following
understandings:
The PYP model of curriculum is student
-centered. It is founded on the belief
that learning occurs when students
and teachers build on their prior
knowledge and engage in activities that help them construct new understandings.
The essential elements of curriculum – concepts, knowledge, skills, attitudes and action – are interdependent
components of a balanced curriculum. Learner profile is an expression of the philosophy of the IB and its
contribution to the development of international-mindedness.
Assessment is integral to all teaching and learning. Planning in the PYP is a collaborative process that allows for
the synthesis of the subjects of the curriculum. The Programme of Inquiry is a framework, organized into
transdisciplinary themes, which provides a balanced, integrated school-wide experience.
Where there is learning, there is action arising from learning.

H
and Writing is an art which reflects the personality traits of individuals. A good
handwriting is a lifelong investment for professional growth. It is an art that helps teach
children muscle control and hand eye coordination. Research says that good hand writing
skills at a young age can help children express their thoughts better……… a lifelong benefit. It
is crucial for successful and satisfying educational experience and lifelong learning skill.
We at RBKIA believe in a holistic growth of a child, hence to create awareness among students
for the importance of good handwriting a Hindi Hand Writing competition was held on 7 th

Reflection – Field trip to Chemistry Laboratory
PYP
T
he visit to the chemistry lab was connected to our 1st UOI – Trans disciplinary theme – How
the world works. Where in the central idea is – ‘Changes in the Earth and its atmosphere
have impact on the way people live their lives’. Mr. Himat (chemistry teacher), showed us various
elements which are easily available in nature, and conducted different experiments. Hence, we
learned that elements react with the changes made in the atmosphere. Of all the experiments, my
favorite was –Ammonia Fountain, which made me think if that’s how a Volcano would erupt??? We
asked many questions and all of them were answered patiently. Some of the learner profiles which we
displayed were – Inquirer- because we asked many questions, Thinker- the experiments made us think
and imagine about the natural disasters and Reflective -we had an altogether new experience. We
would love to visit the chemistry lab again.
