The purpose of the workshop was to introduce the PYP as a systemic and all -encompassing curriculum and to develop the following understandings: The PYP model of curriculum is student -centered. It is founded on the belief that learning occurs when students and teachers build on their prior knowledge and engage in activities that help them construct new understandings. The essential elements of curriculum – concepts, knowledge, skills, attitudes and action – are interdependent components of a balanced curriculum. Learner profile is an expression of the philosophy of the IB and its contribution to the development of international-mindedness. Assessment is integral to all teaching and learning. Planning in the PYP is a collaborative process that allows for the synthesis of the subjects of the curriculum. The Programme of Inquiry is a framework, organized into transdisciplinary themes, which provides a balanced, integrated school-wide experience. Where there is learning, there is action arising from learning. - Paminder Kohli PYP Coordinator 4 Month 2015-16 Field Trip to Dr. Gore’s clinic O PYP n first September 2015 Nursery went for a field trip to Dr. Gore’s clinic in Sion to learn more about health and hygiene.
