This half term, I am going to learn:

Know how to accurately replicate specific techniques for a variety of fitness based activities.

Know what exercises target specific muscle groups and understand the effects of exercise on the heart, lungs and body.

Know how to measure fitness with specific tests and record results.

Know the components of physical fitness and ways to improve fitness using a circuit.
To help me develop my knowledge and understanding in fitness I am going to:
Produce an information booklet to develop other students understanding on how to improve fitness and lead a healthy active lifestyle.
To be successful in my homework, I need to :





Identify key vocabulary in fitness.
Plan a 5 minute warm up to deliver to the class and describe the benefits of a warm up and cool down.
Explain what changes happen to your heart, lungs and body when you exercise and when you start to recover
Design a fitness circuit suitable for a chosen sport. Label each station and describe how you can make it harder.
Identify the components of health related fitness. Describe the fitness tests used to measure these components.
To challenge myself, I will also:

Evaluate your performance within the lesson. Write a report what you did and describe changes to your heart rate.
Describe the correct technique for exercises used in the lesson circuit. Explain why technique is important.
Compare the components of fitness needed for Mo Farah and Usain Bolt.
Explain what qualities are needed to be a good fitness instructor.
Produce a poster explaining the benefits of aerobics or boxercise.
Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses of personal fitness.
