Purpose: I have chosen twenty-five of the forty-five vocabulary words from the first three
Sherlock Holmes short stories we have read in class. I chose the twenty-five words based upon
your propensity to need to know them in your adult life.
Assignment: create vocabulary cubes for each of these words, which are due Thursday (January
28, 2016), and may be used for your Sherlock Holmes - All Star Vocabulary #1.
Requirements: you must have the word, part of speech, definition, 2 synonyms, 2 antonyms, a
defining sentence, and an image that serves as a pneumonic device to recall the meaning of the
poem.
