Dr. Wagner recognized by Pitt School of Education Upper St. Clair High School Associate Principal for Program Planning &
Innovation Timothy M. Wagner, Ed.D. has been named an Early Career
Awardee from the University of Pittsburgh School of Education. Read more Middle school principals accept Schools to Watch awards Principals Dan O'Rourke and Joseph DeMar accepted the Schools to Watch
Awards on behalf of Boyce Middle School and Fort Couch Middle School,
respectively. The schools were recognized at the Pennsylvania Association for Middle Level Education State
Conference on Feb. 26, 2017, in State College. This marks the fourth time that both schools have earned this honor.

Pennsylvania Music Educators Association All­State Choir. Mackenzie Damon, Jonah Glunt and Jack Smith will

Seven USC wrestlers advance to WPIAL championships Seven Upper St. Clair High School wrestlers finished in the top five at the WPIAL Class AAA Section 2 Championships
– including two section champs, Eli Grape and Thomas Kyle. The section championships were held Feb. 25, 2017, at
Connellsville Area Senior High School. Read more 8th grader named semifinalist in PA geography bee A Fort Couch Middle School student has been named a semifinalist in the 2017 Pennsylvania State Geographic Bee.
Eighth grader Atharva Barve scored among the top 104 on the qualifying exam that was administered to school­level

23rd Annual Shakespeare Monologue & Scene Contest at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. Eighth graders Morgan

Heart Association. Read more USC Community Foundation sponsors Photo Jamboree The Community Foundation of Upper St. Clair is sponsoring a Photo Jamboree to collect photos of “the sites and
seasons” of the Upper St. Clair Township for its new website. In particular, foundation officials are seeking photos of
landmarks, nature scenes, historical places, monuments and public buildings. Read more USC host families needed for visiting Thai students The Thai­USA Student Cultural Exchange Program, now in its 12th year, is seeking 17 host families for visiting Thai
students from April 26 – May 21, 2017. In total, 34 students and four teachers from Thailand are participating in this
year’s exchange. Read more Swimming: Girls’ team captures section title – good luck at WPIALS!!! The Upper St. Clair girls’ swim team captured the WPIAL Section 4 title – marking the team’s 10th section title in the
past 11 years. Next up for the girls’ and boys’ swim teams is the WPIAL Championships on March 2­3 at the University
of Pittsburgh’s Trees Pool. In total, Upper St. Clair has 25 swimmers – 12 girls and 13 boys – who will be competing in
the WPIAL championships. Read more Opening Night TONIGHT: USCHS presents “The Drowsy Chaperone” USC High School will present its spring musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone,” March 3­5 and March 9­11 in the school’s
theatre. The curtain rises at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, March 3, 4, 10 and 11. Family Night, with a 6:30 p.m.
show time, is set for Thursday, March 9 and a 2 p.m. matinee is offered on Saturday, March 5. For the first time, Upper
St. Clair is offering online ticket sales. Visit www.usctheater.org/musical to order tickets to any of the six performances. Read more Kindergarten Registration Kindergarten registration for incoming Upper St. Clair kindergarten students and their families will be held mid­March at
each of the district’s three elementary schools as follows:
Baker Elementary: Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 22
Eisenhower Elementary: Thursday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 21
Streams Elementary: Wednesday, March 15 and Monday, March 20
Families will complete the registration process at the school in their attendance area and meet with school community
members that may include a teacher, librarian, nurse, school counselor and parent association representative.
Incoming kindergarten students will complete vision and hearing screenings. Read more and schedule a registration
appointment online 2017­18 calendar proposed – feedback accepted thru March 10 The Upper St. Clair School District has posted its proposed calendar for the 2017­18 school year. Community
members are invited to provide comment and feedback through Friday, March 10, 2017. The proposed first day of
