raining so that their predators will not see them.

Rainforest Notes
Rainforests are located by the equator {between the Tropic of Cancer and the
tropic of Capricorn.
The temperature is usually around 82 , with a high humidity. Rainforests usually
get between 75 and 400 inches of rain a year.
The rainforest biome only makes up 6% af the earth's surface.
At least 5O% of the world's species of both plants and animals are found in the
Rainforests. One acre of rainforest land has more species of trees than a whole
state in the U5.
A Rainforest is a very efficient ecosystem due to the fact that it is self recycling.
There is no waste. All parts of plants and animals are eaten by each other.
Many animals have become endangered or extinct due to loss of habitate. Every
15 min. one species becomes extinct.
Over half the world's insects live in the rainforests. There are more insects in the
rainforest than any other type of animal. There are even some that have not even
been discovered yet. Because of the warm moist climate some of these insects
grow to very large sizes.
Many animals in the rainforest use camouflage to protect themselves. They are
able to blend into their environment.
The sloth is so slow moving that moss can grow on its back. Another form
camouflage, or protection that they have is that they only urinate when it
raining so that their predators will not see them.

Some adaptations that plants have are:
1. They
don't grow on the ground they grow on branches higher up in the tree
to get light.
2. Some leaves form cup like structure that small animals drink from.
