Volunteer Position Description
Special Event Volunteer
Varies Depending on Events
Reports to: Volunteer Coordinator
Commitment: 2 events per year
Work Location: Varies depending on event
The purpose of this position:
Do you enjoy working as a team, interacting with the public and being a part of
something grand? If you answered yes to any of these questions, than being a special
event volunteer is the job for you! Our special event volunteers help coordinate, set up
and work EBHS’ events such as Wag Fest, Wine & Whiskers, lure coursing, Trivia Night,
Spa Day and more!
Responsibilities and Duties Include:
 Following safe animal handling and lifting procedures at all times
 Setting up and taking down of events
 A variety of necessary tasks, event specific
Qualifications:
 Ability to work without direct supervision
 Ability to bend, squat, twist and stand for moderate lengths of time
 Organized, detail oriented and timely
 Must be comfortable talking and interacting with the public
Requirements:
 Must be professional in demeanor with excellent customer service skills
 Must be outgoing
 Must be at least 16 to perform duties alone (with parent or legal guardian
consent)
 Must be at least 14 years old to perform duties with a parent or legal guardian
 Must attend orientation and remain in contact regarding events
