10474 Finding your hardware serial number
You are here: Home
When called for support issues Promethean tech support will generally ask for a serial number. This allows the technician to
verify your warranty, the purchase/install date of the equipment, the model of the Activboard or Activslate and from whom it
was purchased. This document will show you how to find the serial number so you can provide this information and be more
effectively supported.
ActivBoards
The location of the ActivBoard serial number depends on model.
AC1 (First Generation) ActivBoards:
If you have a 75” ActivBoard, like the image below, your board’s serial number should be on one of the pen holders (Image
for SN not available).
AC2 (Second Generation) ActivBoards:
There were two styles for this model board. If the board has rounded corners like the first image below, the serial number
will be on the side of the housing for the electronics, behind the upper left hand corner of the board facing outwards (Image
for AC3 board, but sticker is in the same place). If your board has tapered corners like the second image below the serial
number is on a plastic tag behind the lower left corner (See image). Simply pull this tag out to the side to read the number.
AC3 (3rd Generation) ActivBoards:
There are three model series ActivBoards of this model. For the 300/300 pro boards pictured below on the left with darker
gray trim, the serial number will be on a sticker on the left hand side of the board, between the pen holders. For the 100
series board, with the light gray trim pictured on the right, the serial number will be on the side of the housing for the
electronics, behind the upper left hand corner of the board facing outwards (See images).
ActivSlates
RS1 Activslate/RS2 Activslate/Activslate 50:
For all models of ActivSlate the serial number is on the back of the slate on a silver sticker (See image).
Promethean Branded Projectors
PRM-10/20 projectors:
If you have a projector that resembles the image below, you can find the serial number on the underside of the projector
on a silver sticker (See image). Note that these projectors are usually mounted to the ceiling, with the underside facing up.
Generally Promethean support will also need the model number and may also need the board’s serial number.
PRM-25 Projectors:
If you have a projector that resembles the image below, you can find the serial number on the back of the projector on a
bar-coded sticker. The number will always begin with WPRM (See image).
Other
ActivSound:
Most ActivSound amplifiers have serial numbers on a sticker on the back of the amp (See image). Microphones usually also
have serial numbers located inside the mic where you’d go to replace the battery.
ActiView:
If you have an ActiView visualize like the one pictured below, the serial number is located on the bottom of the unit’s base,
under one of the feet (See image).
Non-serialized items:
Our Learner Response systems, ActivWand, ActivPens, ActivPanel, ActivTablet, or in general any product not listed above are
not tracked in our system by serial number. A basic description will usually suffice to give support an understanding of the
product in question but to verify warranty you may need to provide a sales order number or the serial number of another
product (Usually a board) that was purchased at the same time. Likewise you may be asked to provide your board’s serial
number if there could potentially be a compatibility issue present, or provide other information (model number, etc) from the
device you are having difficulty with.
