forces cause the projectile motion

The force of gravity
The force of the cannon
• Projectile motion – the curved path an object follows
when it is thrown near the surface of the earth due to
gravity and inertia
• Inertia – tendency of an object to want to keep moving
• Projectile motion has two components:
• horizontal motion from the force of the throw then
that object’s inertia
• Vertical motion from the pull of gravity
These two components create a curved path
