Introduction to Innovation Range
Technical Information
The Innovation couch range is designed for specialist medical procedures and for general patient examinations. With a
high emphasis on patient comfort and safety and improved manual handling solutions the fully electric functionality
provides smooth lifting and patient profiling during patient examination and treatment. A choice of 2 wheel systems
accommodates different clinicians needs and budgetary requirements.
At SEERSMedical® we are using state of the art design tools, such as 3D solid modelling and in house rapid prototyping, to assist us
in getting ideas in development quickly into manufacture. Whilst designing new products, all manufacturing capabailites available
are taken into consideration, such as CNC wood cutting, laser proling and robot welding, which deliver reliable build quality and
repeatability of accurate components, time after time. A typical innovative use of these processes is evident in a high loaded component
such as the ram bracket, a common item on many SEERS couches, where using laser proling we have been able to make the parts
interlock, adding immense strength, even before welding! This is typical of the attention to detail that we pride ourselves with, and
sets us apart from other couch manufacturers, giving us confidence in the reliability and longevity of the products we manufacture.
Infection control issues have been addressed with a smooth moulded base cover and acrylic capped vac forming’s
minimising dirt traps. The addition of an anti-bacterial powder coating on all the couch framework components further
enhances protection against infection.
The upholstered support surfaces of all models have anti-microbial vinyl which is easy to clean and decontaminate. These
vinyls are also fire retardant and waterproof. The Standard model upholstery is 65cm wide with a 40mm medium density
foam whereas the Deluxe models offer SEERSComfortPlus™ upholstery at 70cm wide with a foam density of 60mm and
incorporating a pressure relieving design for additional patient comfort.
The Innovation Deluxe models incorporate twin motors in the base frame facilitating vertical lift and two-way tilt. Autoelectric CPR functionality and auto-leveling software return the couch quickly to a fully horizontal resuscitation position
in the event of an emergency.
The development of the Innovation range has been
achieved by applying our extensive experience and
knowledge of the healthcare market. Using innovative
manufacturing processes and bespoke state of
the art technology SEERSMedical® has developed a
couch range for use in a variety of specialist clinical
environments such as Ultrasound scanning, Oncology,
Endoscopy and Critical Care.

Mechanical Safety & Load Testing
All SEERSMedical® products have been tested to the applicable clauses within
IEC 60601-2-38 for mechanical safety and load test. Our couches have been thoroughly
tested with a two and a half times safe working load (in excess of 600kgs) loaded
evenly, for in excess of one hour, to prove load support capability without failure.
All products are tested in accordance to IEC 60601-2-38 Clause 28.4 Not only do our
products have high safe working loads (typically 240Kg), but our products also lift the
rated safe working load from the minimum height to the maximum height smoothly.
Electrical Safety
All SEERSMedical® products comply to IEC 60601-1 Safety for Medical Electrical
Equipment as well as meeting the requirements of EMC to the standards of EN 606011-2:2000 - Directive 2007/47/EC. In addition, the actuation and control systems used
on our products are marked with the UL mark, demonstrating compliance to UL606011 and CAN/CSA-C22.2No. 601.1-M90, meeting the requirements for USA and Canada.
The actuation control system is also marked with approval to C-ETL-US No. 3154358.
CE Marking & Quality System
SEERSMedical® operates a Quality Management System in accordance with ISO
9001:2008. SEERS products comply with the Essential Requirements in Annex I of EC
Directive 93/42/EC, with all relevant design, production records, risk assessments,
product testing and labelling information recorded in the documentation file labelled
the “Technical File”. All products carry a unique serial number for trace-ability of build
date, model number and associated build records.
Flammability
The upholstered couch sections satisfies flammability requirements to the standards of
BS 7176:1995 (medium hazard) using ignition sources 0 (cigarette), 1 (gas) as defined in
BS EN. 1921-1 and 2 and 5 (crib) BS 5852:1990
Warranty
The variable height couches detailed in this brochure have a 10 year structural frame
warranty, 2 years on electric and hydraulic actuation, 2 years on gas struts and12
months on all other components. (further warranty details are available on request)

Diabolo is a hard wearing vinyl with a softer
feel than the Mundial range of fabrics. The
Diabolo range is fire retardant to crib 5
and additionally complies to the French
M1 standard. Diabolo is anti-bacterial,
waterproof and has an abrasion resistance
to 50,000 cycles.
