Position Summary:
BioFuelNet Canada (BFN) is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Assistant Project Manager to
support Canada’s Biojet Supply Chain Initiative (CBSCI), an initiative of BFN’s Aviation Task Force. The
project is led and managed by Waterfall Group (www.waterfall.ca).
The purpose of the CBSCI is to enable carbon neutral growth in the Canadian aviation sector through
downstream integration of biojet fuel produced from certified sustainable, domestically produced
oleochemical feedstocks in a comingled airport fuel supply system.
CBSCI Summary:
Renewable aviation fuel (biojet) holds the greatest potential for enabling carbon neutral growth of
the Canadian aviation sector. Efficient use of existing downstream infrastructure (e.g., blending and
storage terminals, pipelines, and airport distribution & hydrant systems) are conditions precedent to
wide‐scale biojet use. CBSCI has been established to achieve the following:

Demonstrate the operational feasibility of commercially available biojet fuels in the domestic
jet fuel supply system using existing delivery infrastructure (e.g., co‐mingled airport fuel
system) to directly support carbon neutral growth of the CDN aviation sector beyond 2020.
Validate CDN biojet supply chain elements (e.g., quantitative feedstock availability,
sustainability certification, biojet integration in the jet fuel supply system, quantify
regulatory/fiscal options) to enable a feasibility assessment for private sector investment in
commercial scale biojet production in Canada.
Generate hands‐on experience with biojet handling and integration to develop best practices
in a Canadian context.

Contribute to project deliverables through research, report writing, and quantitative analysis
Create and maintain project documentation, records, and schedules
Review work completed by others to check for correct spelling and grammar, ensuring
consistent format policies are followed; recommend revisions
Participate in event organization, coordinate teleconferences and meetings
Additional project secretary duties that arise from time to time
Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in field of sustainability, environmental or social sciences, or
similar field
Able to work with limited supervision, and under own initiative

Excellent research, analytical, documentation, and verbal communication skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other programs an asset
Ability to begin role upon short notice
Requirements and Compensation:

Time requirements estimated at 40 hours per month (1-2 days per week)
Compensation $1,500/month
Job duration 18-24 months with potential for extension depending on project progress and
timeline
Position to begin as soon as possible, likely Dec. 2015
Preference for candidates who can commit to a minimum of 18 months engagement
