Vertex O Series EIC for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 serves as the dynamic
integration channel between the Vertex O Series tax engine and JD Edwards
EnterpriseOne.* The innovative design and configuration options of Vertex O Series EIC
allows tax departments to take control of tax decisions and make changes that affect
their company’s revenue with minimal IT assistance. Through this integration, JD
Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 users are given full access to Vertex’s reporting and

Integration Details
Created to meet established standards for software development, the Vertex O Series
EIC facilitates communication between JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 and Vertex O
Series products. The EIC is composed of C functions and application objects that
represent several layers of functionality between Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1
ORACLE VALIDATED INTEGRATION DAT A SHEET
and the Vertex O Series tax calculation engine. Once the EIC has been installed and
configured, the information passed from JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 is mapped to
the appropriate O Series parameters for processing by the O Series tax calculation or
Tax Area ID services; the result is returned to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1. Vertex O
Series EIC allows JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 and O Series users to:

Retrieve and assign Tax Area IDs for accurate tax jurisdiction code.
