PAINTER
The Burnaby School District is looking to hire one Temporary Painter to work throughout the
District on an ongoing, temporary basis starting immediately to March 31, 2017. This position
prepares surfaces for painting and applies paint and a variety of other protective coatings to
maintain and enhance the appearance of district buildings and facilities.
Applicants must have:
 Grade 12 diploma (or equivalent)
 BC or Interprovincial TQ in Painting and Decorating
 Four years related work experience as a Journeyman
 Valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class 5)
Applicants are expected to:
 Have thorough knowledge of current techniques, methods, procedures and equipment
applicable to the painting trade
 Possess the physical condition and health to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
(including working in confined spaces, and lifting and carrying heavy materials/ objects)
 Maintain good interpersonal skills and have good verbal and written communication skills
Applicants must be:
 Knowledgeable of safety procedures and materials, methods and equipment related to
carpentry
 A self-starter with an ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a member of a
team
These positions are subject to ongoing funding and re 40-hours/week (day shift). These positions
pay $30.76 per hour and a come with a benefits package that includes extended health, dental and
provincial medical coverage, paid sick benefits, and vacation pay.
