Mission Statement:
To prepare students in the field of Cosmetology by exceeding the standards set by the state of South Carolina and
providing individualized instruction and focused training in technical, business, communication, and service skills. The
department educates students so that they demonstrate the professionalism necessary to gain and maintain
employment.
Entrance Requirements:
Acceptable placement test score(s); plus high school diploma or GED

Salon stylist; editorial or session stylist; educator; stylist for film, TV, or theater; product development; retail;

• All courses must be passed with a grade of “C” or better to sit for the South Carolina State Board of Cosmetology.
• Must pass the South Carolina State Board of Cosmetology to work as a cosmetologist.
