32nd Annual Miss Martha’s Ice Cream Crankin’
Instructions for Crankers (people making ice cream)
June 11, 2017 - Ice cream served at 3 PM
First Presbyterian Church 4815 Franklin Road
Find a good recipe
Find a favorite old ice cream recipe or create a new flavor.
Make & Freeze
Make and freeze ice cream a day or two ahead of time so it will be good
and frozen for the Crankin’. Bring at least 1 gallon!
Are you entering the
contests?
See contest instructions - Decide if you want to enter the contest for a
chance to have your flavor produced and sold by Purity Dairies for at
least 1 year. If so, get contest registration and recipe forms from your
captain or go to marthaobryan.org/crankin. Bring two (2) Contest Entry
Forms completed and two (2) labeled samples of ice cream for each
flavor you will be entering into the contest, in provided containers, plus
the ice cream you will be serving the public.
Park free
Crankers receive parking pass and one free ticket per person scooping
ice cream.
Arrive by 2:30p.m.
Arrive at First Presbyterian Church no later than 2:15 if you plan to enter
the contest. Please arrive no later than 2:30p.m. if you are serving ice
cream. Look for the special parking entrance on Tyne Blvd. for Crankers.
Make sure you have enough time to set up your table by 3:00pm.
Set up
Bring a gallon, or two, or three, to the Crankin’ in a cooler with ice or dry
ice so you can keep it frozen until you serve the last scoop.
Set up your cooler at your church’s or businesses designated location.
Tables will be set up, but you may want to bring your own chair, table
cloth, ice cream scoop, sign for your ice cream, and paper towels for
clean up. PLEASE DO NOT MOVE TABLES OR SIGNS FROM THEIR SET
LOCATIONS.
Serve up
Ice cream service begins promptly at 3:00pm. Please do not scoop
before 3:00pm. An airhorn and announcement will sound the beginning
of the Crankin’ at 3:00pm.
Clean up
Please clean up your area when your ice cream is gone.
Remember
Do not begin serving ice cream until 3:00p.m. sharp and remember to
serve small amounts as this is a tasting.
EVENT GOAL: 625 GALLONS OF ICE CREAM and
800 TICKETS SOLD IN ADVANCE so tell your friends and family!
