Robberson Ford Donates More than 4000 Jars of Peanut Butter to
NeighborImpact’s Emergency Food Program
Bend, OR – After a successful Peanut Butter Drive, Robberson Ford in Bend and Prineville is donating
approximately 4374 - 40oz jars of peanut butter to NeighborImpact’s Emergency Food Assistance
Program. Protein rich foods such as peanut butter play an important role for NeighborImpact food
program, especially in the summer months when many children lose access to school nutrition
programs. It is estimated nearly 24% of children are unsure how their next meal will be provided and,
when school is out during the summer months, local food banks carry a larger responsibility. Peanut
butter is an important protein staple to feed kids during these summer months, but is difficult to acquire
in adequate quantities.
“We are thrilled to partner with Robberson Ford again this year for the peanut butter drive,” says Carly
Sanders, Food Program Manager at NeighborImpact. “We typically see a decrease in donations at the
food bank during the summer and, combined with not having access to free and reduced lunches at
school, we see in increase in the need for food among children.”
Between May 14th and 28th this year, Robberson Ford donated one 40 ounce jar of peanut butter for
every oil change and donated four cases (24 jars) with every new Ford purchase. Robberson Ford Quick
Lane Parts and Service departments also offered customers the opportunity to “donate a jar of peanut
butter” during check out. Additionally, community partners at Newport Market in Bend and Erickson’s
Thriftway in Prineville embraced the effort, promoting the Peanut Butter Drive at their stores and
providing Robberson Ford to purchase peanut butter in bulk at a discounted rate.
“We are very excited about the success of this program this year,” says Jeff Robberson, President of
Robberson Ford. “Our generous customers, vendors, partners and staff were enthusiastic about giving
throughout the two weeks during the peanut butter drive. It is so great being part of the communities
in Central Oregon and we are proud to do our part in helping NeighborImpact serve children and
families in need. Special thanks also goes out to Newport Market and Thriftway for their ongoing
support!”
The NeighborImpact Food Truck will be picking up pallets of peanut butter at Robberson Ford in Bend on
Friday, June 16, 2016. Please see below for more information.
