Physiotouch®
PhysioTouch® is a revolutionary device
designed to enhance the efficiency of the
lymphatic system, by creating negative
pressure in the treatment head. The result
of this is a rapid acceleration of the healing
process after surgery. The device helps to
speed up recovery time from surgery by
lifting the skin and the underlying tissue whilst
simultaneously reducing swelling, increasing
tissue mobility and reducing the formation of
fibrotic tissue.
About PhysioTouch ®
The device features:
nn Pulsation of negative pressure
nn Constant negative pressure
The lowest pressure is 20mmHg and the highest
250mmHg. These pressures can be altered for the
comfort of your treatment.
The mechanical vibration feature is effective for treating
different layers of tissue. The varying speeds are
designed to target certain areas to provide extensive
relief, from the superficial layers right down to the
deeper layers of tissue, joints and tendons.
Treatment
Depending on your condition, treatment sessions can last
between 20 minutes to an hour. Treatments are relaxing
and therapeutic, and often with positive outcomes.
Treatment always commences around the shoulder and
neck to activate the main lymphatic stations to prepare
the body for treatment. The therapist will then work
down the body towards the affected area and work
around the wound. Once local treatment is completed the
therapist will work back up to the main lymphatic stations
around the shoulder and neck and cease treatment.
Due to the device effectively activating your lymphatic
system, you MUST consume 2 liters of water in the 4
hours post treatment.
If at any stage you feel uncomfortable during the
session, tell your therapist who will be able to adjust
the pressure or cease the treatment.
What to Expect?
The PhysioTouch® device is a non-electrical stimulus,
which means there is no electrical current sent through
your body.
The device works on mechanical negative pressure
which gently lifts or ‘sucks’ up the skin. This is
commonly non-painful, however some mild discomfort
may be experienced locally. Overall it is a pleasant,
relaxing experience.

Why we use PhysioTouch ®?
PhysioTouch® is used as an aftercare treatment
following surgical procedures, to remove excess
swelling and damaged tissue. By doing this, the body’s
healing process is encouraged and the remodeling of
tissue is activated, allowing your wounds to heal quicker.
Treatment with PhysioTouch® also prevents too much
scar tissue and waste material from building up, which is
a major preventative for effective healing.
By reducing scar tissue, the appearance and tightness of
your scar can also be reduced. After several treatments,
scar tissue is much softer and a lot less prevalent.
